BACKGROUND
In order to construct off-site improvements within public right-of-way, a project may be
subject, by conditions of approval, to provide a security bond to guarantee completing
and/or restoring the public place to its original condition in the event permitee fails to do
so.
This results in a bond document being submitted to the City, which must be approved by
the City Council prior to continuation of the processing of the project.
PURPOSE
To provide guidelines and allow greater flexibility in administering off-site improvement
security bonds and provides efficiency in processing projects within a reasonable time
line.
POLICY
The security bonds for off-site improvement shall be reviewed and approved by the
Public Services Director/City Engineer.
The City Clerk shall be responsible for the filing and keeping bond documents until such
time as the Public Services Director/City Engineer authorizes the release thereof.
