BACKGROUND
Periodically, it is necessary to convene the City Council at a Study Session. Scheduling
City Council Study Sessions can be logistically difficult and time-consuming. To
facilitate this process, a regular meeting date and time has been requested.
PURPOSE
To streamline the process and time necessary to schedule City Council Study Sessions on
various topics.
POLICY
Whenever possible, study sessions with the City Council will be scheduled for the first
and third Thursdays of the month from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. and shall be scheduled and
publicly calendared at least two weeks prior to the meeting date whenever possible.
Notice of study sessions shall be posted in accordance with the requirements of the
Brown Act. When no study session is needed, a meeting will not be noticed. Study
sessions may be scheduled outside of these times in the case of emergencies, or when
other factors make meeting at the established time impractical, i.e. such as availability of
presenters other reasonable limitation. However, every effort will be made to match the
established schedule.
