HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Policy No. 100-09 - Contract Change Orders CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA COUNCIL POLICY MANUAL SUBJECT: Contract Change Orders Policy No. 100-9 Effective Date: 2/24/87 Revised: 9/12/06 Page No. 1 of 1 BACKGROUND In order to construct public works, capital improvement projects and to accomplish normal maintenance work, the City from time to time awards contracts to companies for capital projects, public works, services, supplies and/or equipment. In the normal course of business, unforeseen circumstances may arise which require a change to the original scope of the contract. PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines regarding change orders. POLICY When circumstances arise during the implementation of a contract, the City Manager or his/her designee may execute a Change Order without the approval of the City Council provided that the amount of the Change Order or the cumulative amount of all change orders related to the contract do not exceed Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) or such greater amount as may be permitted by amendment to Section 3.08.065 of the Lake Elsinore Municipal Code.
