HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA Reso No 2009-10Page 1 of 3 RESOLUTION NO. 2009-10 RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY FROM THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Lake Elsinore (the "Agency"), a public body, corporate and politic, established pursuant to and existing under the California Community Redevelopment Law (the "CRL"; Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.), was created by the City Council of the City of Lake Elsinore (the "City"); and WHEREAS, the Agency is undertaking activities necessary for the implementation of the Redevelopment Plan (the "Redevelopment Plan") for the Rancho Laguna Redevelopment Project Area No. I; and WHEREAS, the City is authorized pursuant to authority provided under CRL Section 33220 to sell property to the Agency; and WHEREAS, the City owns certain real property identified on the Property Map attached hereto as Exhibit "A" (the "Property") which is in the Redevelopment Project Area No. I ("Project Area"); and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to convey and the Agency desires to acquire the Property and the Agency finds that such acquisition by the Agency will aid in redevelopment of the Project Area consistent with the Redevelopment Plan by providing an opportunity for the development of an affordable housing project consisting of approximately 111 very-low income dwelling units and two (2) resident manager units; and NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Agency Board hereby finds and determines that the acquisition of the Property by the Agency and the development of an affordable housing project consisting of approximately 111 very-low income dwelling units and two (2) resident manager units thereon (i) is consistent with the Redevelopment Plan and the Agency's 2005-2009 Housing and Redevelopment Implementation Plan and (ii) is of benefit to the Project Area and the immediate neighborhood in which the project is located because the proposed project will provide affordable housing opportunities for qualifying very low income households. RDA Resolution No. 2009-10 Page 2 of 3 SECTION 2. The Agency agrees to purchase the Property from the City for Six Hundred Eight Thousand One Hundred Ninety Two Dollars ($608,192). SECTION 3. The Agency authorizes the Executive Director to execute the certificate of acceptance and such other documents as may be reasonably necessary or prudent to complete this transaction as provided in this Resolution. its adoption.
