Whereupon it was moved by Counoiimeafiallagher and seconded by Councilman.Bell that -said sum of $2500.00 be >- placed in a special.fund and deposited in the First National Bank of Elsinore in the form of a six months time deposit to,bear 4% interest vt ieh motion was carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilman Taylor, Bell, Keck and Gallagher. Noes: None. Absent: None. Thereupon a map of the Grand Avenue Tract was pye- sented to the Counwil for their approval and acceptance. Thereupon after due consideration and checking of said map, it was moved by Councilman. Taylor and.seconded by Councilman,. Bell that the map of Grand Avenue Tract be approved and accepted which .motion +upon vote was carried; W. K. Smith of the Elsinore Valley Onion Co. then appeared before the Council, 'presenting in detail their plans and progress be- ing,made in preparation, for the Pageant and Onion festival to be hsld in the early part of May and solicited t1B- City's support of the event by furnishing fire works for the occasion in- the - amount of about $400.00i Whereupon it was moved by CouncilmarTaylor and seconded by Coun- oilman Bell that matter be taken under advisement and - future consideration which motion upon vote carried. Councilman.Gallagher.then moved that Mr. J. P. Van Houten be appointed City Councilman to fill the existing vacancy, which motion also failed to re- ceive a second. Council then considered the matter of a proposed amendment to -a certain section of Ordinance #179 providing for inspection and granting of permits for the erection of signs in the city. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Taylor and seconded by Councilman_Bell that Resolution #190 be passed and adopted which motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Taylor, Bell, Keck and Gallagher. Noes: None. Absent: None. Ordinance #192 was then presented to Council by City Attorney Best for consideration. Whereupon it was duly moved and carried that proposed ordinance #192 be laid ever for further consideration at the next meetirxg of the council, and that the City Attorney add Building Inspector'be instructed to be present at said meeting. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Taylor and seconded by Councilman Bell that B. D. Robinson, Park Caretaker be authorized to se- cure needed fertilizer for the_City =Park, which motion upon vote carried. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Taylor and seconded by Councilman Bell that Mr. M. The clerk then read the Treasurer's monthly report showing the balances in the various City's funds as of Feb, lot which report on motion duly made and carried, was approved and ordered filed. Councilman J. P. Van Houton who failed to respond to the roll call then appeared and took his chair. The clerk then read a communication from City Attorney Best to Council regarding the Brennecke dog situation. Whereupon it was duly moved and carried that said .communication be filed for future refersncec The clerk then read a communication addressed to the Council from a committee of the Grammer School P.T.A. in which they requested of council their cooperation by arranging with the County Dairy Inspector for a test of the milk from the dairies supplying the school for a bacterial count. Upon motion of councilman Bell and seconded by Councilman Van Houten, and on vote carried the matter was referred to the City Health Officer for his attention. The written report of City Engineer Graham on the proposed im- provement of Sumner Avenue between Riley and Spring Street with pavement and a bridge crossing the lake outlet was.then presented to the c:ound 1. Whereupon after consideration of said, report it was moved by Councilman Taylor and seconded by Councilman Bell that the matter be referred back to the Engineer with instructions that he create 'a larger proposed district to help bear the cost of the bridge and to submit same to council at their next regular_ meeting, which motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Taylor, yell, Keck, Gallagher and Van Houton.
