Also letter Prom Joe Korber quoting prices on ~~ portraits of President Eisenhow on motion by councilman Nelson seconded by Hull clerk was authorized to,place order for one picture at a cost of~12.500 .Letter from Rubbish & Salvage Inco Escondido was read and ordered filed. Mr Landshut was present and spoke to the council regarding a water line easement acre one of his lots om moreno street said water line having beeen installed o~xtside the' area defined in the easement and in such manner that it prevented him from grading the lot as he had others owned by him~in the area, Mr Landshut offered to sell the to the city for $500000 the council took the offer under consideration until legal advise was obtained. v .Letter from Library board reoueating authority to engage the services of Mr Ray Stockdale as architect and advisor on theproposed library building clerk presented resolution '~ 783 authorizing this which on motion by councilman Nelson seconded by Ht was adopted, Resolution # 7$1 authorizing signature on recreation agreeman~ts was read and ordered held over to next meeting and clerk instructed to write the High School board requetin, a representative ~f attend this meeting and review the agreement .with the hope of effecting a revision Resolution # 782 declaring city hall janitor position vacant and authorizing the clerk to let this service to contract was read and on motion by councilman Hull seconded by -mayor Morgan was adopted, The matter of auto insurance policies submitted by Aetna & Niagara companies was discussed and the Niagara company polioy accepted and clerk instruc~red to return the Aetna policy for complete cancellation, `E .Clerk reported on the progress ,made to date on the annexation proceedings and advised ~ the council it was vneeessary that a trip to Riverside be made to secure names & adds of property owners 3.n the uninhabited area to annexed,Clerk instructed to make the tr and was authorized necessary gasoline from city pumps. _ _ MINUTE RECORD OF_ MEETING HELD ON THE A I DAY OF _ _19 _. _! Fes, ~ I DAY OF MAY 19 53 The city council of the city of Elsinore met on t~tedate above written at the hour of 7:30pm and was called to order with Mayor Morgan presiding. .All councilmen answered roll-call councilman Hull led in the salute to the flag and the pledge of allegiance~Rev.Nollsch offered the invocation, ~ ' Clerk read the minutes of meeting. held May.llth 1953 there being no errors or omission 1 '.< noted minutes were. approved as read. Clerk read several communications among them a copy of minutes of boundary commission meeting of May 7th 1953 which recoffinmended certain changes in the bowadary of parcel 3 of the proposed annexation to the city to include all of lots 1 and ]./a of block 10 f of rancho La Laguna upon motion of councilman Washburn seconded by Hull the proposed recommended change was approved and adopted by the following vote~by resolution x(75 ~~' Aye- J~Lhnson- Hull- Washburn- Nelson & Mayc3r Morgan-- NooNone Also read letter of resignation of water supt. Harmon to be effective June 1st 1953 on motion by councilmar- Hull seconded by Mayor Morgan resolution $776 accepting this resignation with regrets was adopted and clerk instructed to issue a certificate of ~ merit. ' ~ Also letter dPom•covnty health dept adviseing of the expiring o$ June 30th 1953 of ~ , ~ € '' county health service agreement,on motion by councilman Hull seconded by Johnson N< resolution ~']7y. extending the agreement for a period of one year was adopted, ~ =~ On motion by councilman Nelson seconded by Hull. resolution X777 approving 1~ ~, ~w employment by the Elsinore Rea~eation Commission of a recreation Director at a salary ~I o£ not to exceed $400.00 per month for the period of June 8th to Sept 7th 1953 plus an expense allowance for one trip. John Sanger was present and submitted an offer to sweep the city streets with power sweeper as outlined on map business district to be covered six days per week,resident district weekly for 235000 per month stipulating-that and additional area added would be covered as outlined for .75¢ per block for two-curb blocks and .50¢ per bloc for onewcurb blocks, On motion by counciLnan Nelson seconded by Washburn resolution X778 notice of ihtenti~ to improve Spring street was adopted.
