HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso No 1992-88RESOLUTION NO. 92-88 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL RECALL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, March 30 , 1993. WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 27000 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the City of Lake Elsinore hereby determines the need for the conduct of a recall election; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to submit to the qualified electors of the City at said election a question relating to the recall of a member of the City Council of the City of Lake Elsinore, specifically, Gary M. Washburn. NOA, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 27230 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the City of Lake Elsinore, California, hereby proclaims that there shall be and is hereby called and ordered held in said City on Tuesday, March 30 1993, a recall election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of submitting the following question: - - YES I - -(a) "Shall Gary M. Washburn be recalled ------------I-------- - from the office of Councilman"? - NO I - ------°°°-°------°---°-----°-°--------°---°----I -°--°- -(b) If the recall prevails, shall the - BY I - - City Council fill the vacancy by - APPT. I - - appointment or call a special ------------I-------- - election for that purpose? - BY I - - - SPECIAL I - - - ELECTION I - SECTION 2. That the ballots to a used at said election shall be, both as to form and matte contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to work with the Riverside PAGE TWO - RESOLUTION NO. 92-88 County Registrar of voters to furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and materials that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. on the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until eight o'clock p.m. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding recall elections. SECTION 6. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is authorized, instructed, and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election, in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 7. That the City Council, by this resolution further requests the County of Riverside Registrar of Voters to conduct said election on behalf of the City of Lake Elsinore. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
