Home My WebLink AboutCC Reso No 1999-52RESOLUTION NO. 99-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON THE 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER,1999, AND DECLARING THE RESULT THERE OF AND MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a regular General Municipal Election was conducted as part of the Consolidated Election, in the City of Lake Elsinore, County of Riverside, State of California, on the 2nd day of November, 1999, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 99-26 adopted the 21 St day of June, 1999, the County of Riverside Registrar of Voters canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part thereof as "E~ibit A". NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE, CALIFORNIA, DOE5 RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That there were sixteen voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of the regular election precincts in the City of Lake Elsinore as established for the holding of State and County Elections. PAGE TWO - RESOLUTION NO. 99-52 SECTION 2. That said Regular Municipal Election was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by the laws relating to cities in the State of California, to wit: Three (3) Members of the City Council of said City for the full term continuing to November, 2003. One (1) City Treasurer of said city for the full term continuing to November, 2003. SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City (except absent voter ballots) for the Regular Municipal Election were 1,934. That the whole number of absentee voter ballots cast in the City was 807 making the total of 2,741 votes cast in the Regular Municipal Election. SECTION 4. That the names of persons voted for at said election for member of the City Council of the City of Lake Elsinore are as follows: Robert L. Polk Kenneth "Kenny" Howard Niemi Pamela "Pam" Brinley James D. Gray Chris (Cl~ristine) Hyland Daryl Hickman Dale Hite Bob Schiffiier Tamara Wentworth George G. Alongi Genie Kelley Richard L. "Dick" Knapp, Sr. That the names of the persons voted for at said election for City Treasurer of the City of Lake Elsinore are as follows: Thomas C. Hundshamer Ralph L. Ferro SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determine that: PAGE THREE - RESOLUTION NO. 99-52 Genie Kelley was elected as a Member of the City Council of said City for a full term continuing to November, 2003. Pamela "Pam" Brinley was elected as a Member of the City Council of said City for a full term continuing to November, 2003. Bob Schiffner was elected as a Member of the City Council of said City for a full term continuing to November, 2003. Ralph L. Ferro was elected as City Treasurer of said City for a full term continuing to November, 2003. SECTION 6. The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the results of said election, showing: 1) The whole number of votes cast in the City. 2) The names of the persons voted for. 3) For what office each person was voted for. 4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person. 5) The number of votes given in the City to each person. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and, upon compliance by the persons elected with the provisions of Section 10262 and Section 10265 of the Elections Code of the State of California, shall deliver to each of such persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by her and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribed thereto and file the same in the office of the City Clerk. Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original PAGE FOUR - RESOLUTION NO. 99-52 Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the recards of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the Minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
