HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso No 1999-07RESOLUT'ION NO. 99 - 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE DESIGNATING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR CERTAIN STREETS WHEREAS, Prima Facie Speed Limits haue been established on certain designated portions of City streets by City Resolutions 94 - 51, 96 - 15 and 98 - 5; and, R'HEREAS, portions of certain City streets do not have established prima facie speed lnnits; and, WHRERAS, most established prima facie speed limits will no longer be valid for the enforcement of speed limits by radar when five years old; and, WHEREAS, an Engineering and Traffic Survey, as required by the California Vehicle Code, has recently been completed; and, WHEREAS, Section 10.20.010 of Title 10 of the Municipal Code provides for the designation of Prima Facie Speed Limits by resolution of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, tlus resolution hereby repeals Resolutions 94-51, 96-15, and 98-5; and, WHEREAS, the City Council's wishes to establish, affirm and change certain established speed limits as shown in Eachibit "A" attached hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elsinore, does hereby find, declare, deternune and direct as follows: 1. That the Prima Facie Speed Limits shall be as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. 2. That the Engineering and Traffic Survey of Speed Limits dated November, 1998 followed the procedures prescribed by the California Vehicle Code and the California Department of Transportation and describes the speed limits to be established by this resolution as set forth in E~ibit "B" attached hereto. 3. That the City Engineer shall order the placement of signs and markings as needed. 4. That the Director of Community Services sha11 place and maintain signs and markings sufficient to notice of said speed limits.
