Home My WebLink AboutCC Reso No 2002-50RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - ~~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE DESIGNATING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR CERTAIN STREETS WIIEREAS, Prima Facie Speed Limits have been established on certain designated portions of City streets by City Resolutions 99-7, 2001-41, and 2002-09; and, WHEREAS, portions of certain City streets do not have established prima facie speed limits; and, WHEREAS, an Engineering and Traffic Survey, as required by the California Vehicle Code, has recently been completed for those certain street portions; and, WHEREAS, recommended speed limits of certain street portions are proposed to be added to Exhibit A, the City Speed Limit Listing, of this resolution; and, WHEREAS, Section 10.20.010 of Title 10 of the Municipal Code provides for the designation of Prima Facie Speed Limits by resolution of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the City Council's wishes to add the following speed limits to Eachibit "A" attached hereto: Canyon Estates Drive from Summerhill Dr to Ridge Crest Dr. 35 MPH. Canyon Estates Drive from Ridge Crest Dr to Franklin St 40 MPH Franklin Street from Canyon Estates Dr to Avenue 6 40 MPH NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elsinore, does hereby find, declaze, determine and direct as follows: That the Prima Facie Speed Limits shall be as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. AYES: That the Engineering and Traffic Survey of Speed Limits dated October 2, 2002, followed the procedures prescribed by the California Vehicle Code and the California Departsnent of Transportation and describes the speed limits to be added by this resolution as set forth in Eachibit "B" attached hereto. That the City Engineer shall order the placement of signs and markings as needed. That the Director of Community Services shall place and maintain signs and mazkings sufficient to notice of said speed limits.
