Home My WebLink AboutCC Reso No 2002-09RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 09 :1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE DESIGNATING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT FOR CERTAIN STREETS WHEREAS, Prima Facie Speed Limits have been established on certain designated portions of City streets by City Resolution 99 - 7 a~id 2001- 4? and, V"HEREAS, portions of Mission Trail have been improved to four travel lanes, and, WfIEREAS, portions of Mission Trail prima facie speed limits need to be updated; and, WHEREAS, portions of Mission fraii are shaz~ed with the County of Riverside, and, WHEREAS, California ~eb.icle Code Sectian 22359 requires that the jwisdictions shazing Yhe street portions agree to the posted speed limit, aud WHEREAS, an Engineering and Trafii~ Survey, as required by t'tie ~:,'alifornia Vehicle Code, has recently been completed for the Mission Trail street portions; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Riverside County has approved the speed limit recoxnmended by the Engineering and Traffic Survey, and WHEREAS, recommended speed limits of certain portions of Mission Trail are proposed to be changed in Eafhibit A, the City Speed Limit Listing, of this resolution; and, WHEREAS, Section 10.20.010 of Title 10 of the Municipal Code provides for the designation of Prima Facie Speed Limits by resolution of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, this resolution hereby repeals Resolution 99 - 7 and 2001- 41 and; WHEREAS, the City Councii's wishes to change certain speed limits as shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 09 SPEED LIMITS PAGE TWO NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elsinore, does hereby fmd, declare, determine and direct as follows: 1. That the Prima Facie Speed Limits shall be as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. 2. That the Engineering and Tr~c Survey of Speed Limits dated October 15, 2001, followed the procedures prescribed by the California Vehicle Code and the California Department of Transportation and describes the speed limits to be established by this resolution as set forth in Ea~hibit "B" attached hereto. 3. That the City Engineer sha11 order the placement of signs and markings as needed. 4. ,'I`hat the llireetar of Community Services shall place and maintain signs aud markings sufficient to notice of said speed limits.
