A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE
ELSINORE, CALIF012NIA, APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR LAND ACQUISITION
PROGRAMS, PUBLIC ACCESS PROGRAMS, AND HABITAT
ENHANCEMENT AND RESTORATION PROGRAMS THROUGH THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD
FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF HABITAT AND HABITAT
RESTORATION.
WHEREAS, the Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) was created by
legislation in 1947 to administer a capital outlay program for wildlife conservation
and related public recreation; and
WHEREAS, originally created within the California Department of Natural
Resources, the Wildlife Conservation Board is now under the auspices of the
California Department of Fish and Game; and
WHEREAS, the primary responsibilities of the WCB are to select, authorize,
and allocate funds for the purchase of land and water suitable for recreation
purposes and the preservation, protection, and restoration of wildlife habitat; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the WCB require the applicant's
governing body to certify by resolution the approval of the application before
submission of said application to the WCB; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of
California for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Lake Elsinore hereby approves the filing of an application through the
Wildlife Conservation Board's Habitat Enhancement and Restoration Program;
certifies that the applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate/maintain the
project and appoint the City Manager as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute
and submit all documents including but not limited to, application agreement
payment requests, and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the
proj ect.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this ~th day of February, 2002,
upon the following vote:
