A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE,
CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE PRESIDENT
AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF AND OUR
TROOPS IN THEIl2 MATTER OF DISARMING
SADDAM HUSSEIN.
WHEREAS, Americans have always risen to the need to protect our
freedom and security, as well as the freedom and security of nations around the
world, when a clear danger is demonstrated; and
WHEREAS, the City Council supports the President and
Commander-in-Chief in his efforts to achieve disarmament in Iraq, and celebrates
the capture of Saddam Hussein; and
WHEREAS, this City Council supports the men and women serving
in the armed forces and honors their commitment to our nation's safety and
security; and
WHEREAS, the City Council acknowledges the one year anniversary
of military action in Iraq and the effectiveness of that action;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Lake Elsinore, California, that the City Council hereby supports the
President and Commander-in-Chief and the men and women of the artned forces of
the United States in their ongoing efforts to assist Iraq in establishing a democratic
government and restoring peace to the Country.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 9`h day of March,
2004, upon the following vote:
