3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that rough -in for components are correctly sized and located.
3.02 INSTALLATION
A. Install components in accordance with manufacturer's Instructions, level and plumb, secured rigidly in
position to wall framing members only.
B. Baby Changing Table and Accessories: Confirm that blocking is approp!ately Installed and ready to
receive changing table and accessories. Install components in strict accordance with manufacturer's
instructions.
C. Tactile Warning Strips: After construction operations are complete and floor has been cleaned,
adhesive apply tactile warning strips as indicated on Drawings.
D. Corner Guards: Position comer guard 4 inches above finished floor. Coordinate installation of
resilient base and painting with comer guard installation.
E. Louvers: Install louver assembly in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Install louvers level
and plumb. Secure louvers in opening framing with concealed fasteners.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 PREPARATION
A. Notify Wal -Mart minimum of 30 days before vehicle service equipment is installed.
3.02 INSTALLATION
A. Install materials in accordance with manufacturers detailed instructions. Comply with applicable code
requirements for installation and operation of vehicle service equipment.
B. Run air lines overhead unless noted otherwise.
C. Pit Covers: Install on top angles welded to tube surrounding pit opening. Rollaway drain to be
Installed on bottom angles. Provide complete coverage from end to end of pit opening with pit
covers.
D. Install hose reels at the bottom of roof joist.
E. Air Compressor:
1. Permanently mount compressor, with isolators, on 44 pressure treated wooden skids. Skids
shall be leveled as required and secured to slab with suitable fasteners.
2. Extend compressor muffler through adjacent exterior wall. Furnish required sleeve to other
trades for Installation.
a. Coordinate installation of sleeve at elevation required, minimum 12 feet above finish floor.
b . Provide high temperature, permanent sealant within wall construction around penetration.

3.03 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. Upon completion of installation, conduct tests to ensure proper installation and proper operation of

travel to comply with indicated requirements.
3.04 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
A. Make necessary adjustments for proper operation of leveler. After installation, restore marred and
abraded surfaces to original condition.

Amendments in effect at time of bidding, and all local and state laws. Should Drawings,
Specifications, or manufactured products contradict local ruling, local ruling takes precedence. Correct

1.04 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
A. Plan work of this Section so that it proceeds with minimum of interference between trades.
B. Coordinate in writing the installation procedures and termination information for all items furnished by
or installed by both the Electrical a. id Mechanical Subcontractors.

will not receive final parameters until utility letter is In Wal -Mart Support possession.
E. Coordinate with Wal -Mart Support dates for telephone system test. System will not receive final
parameters until telephone system test is completed and any deficiencies have been corrected.
F. Coordinate with Wal -Mart telephone company for installation of telephone service. System will not
be considered complete until final parameters have been downloaded and remote communications
have been established.
G. Completion: Installation of Energy Mgt. system must be complete 7 days prior to store possession
date.
1.05 WAPRANTY
A. 'rcvide warranty labor at no charge for a period of 90 days from Grand Opening Date.
B. Warrant all Energy Management Equipment whether supplied in this Section or not for a period of
one year from Grand Opening date.
C. Respond to correct warranty problems within 24 hours of notification or Wal -Mart Support will assign

PART GENERAL
1.01 SUMMARY
A. Section Includes:
1. This Division of Specifications covers plumbing, fire protection, exhaust, temperature control,
heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
2. Project record documents:
a. For above grade, show on blue line prints in red ink, changes from original Drawings made
during installation of Work.
b. For below grade piping, show exact location of piping installed below grade. Make
drawings on sheets of same size as Construction Documents, in pencil on tracing paper,
legibly drawn and lettered.
c. File with Wal -Mart when Work Is complete.
3. Coordinate mechanical work with that of other trades on Project to prevent unnecessary conflicts
or delays during construction.
4. Provide an approved, experienced foreman at Project at all times that mechanical work is being
done.
5. Label Rooftop Units with 6 inch black permanent paint stencil on RTU. Number units as shown
on Drawings. Locate labels for each unit near its disconnect.
6. Where Drawings indicate equipment to be furnished by others, Wal -Mart or other Sections of
the Specifications provide mechanical rough -in for units pursuant to shop drawings and make final
connections, providing shut off valves, traps, and other facilities for a complete installation.

1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit the following under provisions of Section 01300.
B. Submit shop drawings and product data.
C. Before submitting shop drawings and material lists, verity that equipment submitted is mutually
compatible and suitable for intended use. Verity that equipment will fit available space and allow
ample room for maintenance. If size of equipment furnished makes necessary change in location or
configuration, submit shop drawings showing proposed layout.
D. Check shop drawings prepared by manufacturers; affix review stamp and date, and indicate Project
name and Specification paragraph under which submitted.
E. Review and acceptance of drawings, schedules, literature, or illustrations shall not relieve Contractor
from responsibility for deviations from Drawings or Specifications unless he has, in writing, called
attention to such deviation at time of submission, and secured written acceptance. Nor is Contractor
relieved from responsibility for errors in dimensions, details, size of members, or omissions of
components from fittings; or for coordinating items with actual building conditions and adjacent
construction.
F. Include the following in manufacturers' product data:
1. Fans with tan curves that indicate ctm, static pressure, and brake horsepower.
2. Duct liner.
3. Flex duct.
4. Duct wrap.
5. Unit heater.
6. Radiant panels.
7. Grilles, registers, and diffusers with pressure drop, throw, and NC level.
8. Hangers and supports.
9. Pipe, fittings, valves, and accessories.
10. Plumbing devices, including baddluw preventers, pressure reducing valves, hydrants, traps, and
drains.
11. Plumbing equipment, including storage tanks and pumps.
12. Domestic water heaters.
13. Plumbing fixtures and trim.
14. Fire sprinkler system.
15. Pumps with pump curves that indicate GPM, head and brake horsepower, where indicated on
drawings.
16. Balance dampers.
1.04 OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS
A. At completion of Project, and at least 14 days prior to request for final inspection, provide two
volumes of Manuals containing the following:
1. Operating Instruction for major items, i equipment, including start-up and shut -down
procedures.
2. Service and Lubrication Instructions for each unit of equipment, including spare parts iist
indicating local source of supply.
B. Bind each complete set of Manuals in three ring, loose leaf, hard -back binder.

BASIC MECHANICAL MATERIALS AND METHODS
PART GENERAL
1.01 OPERATION PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE
A. When any equipment is operable, and it is to the advantage of the Contractor to operate the
equipment, he may do so provided that he properly supervises the operation, and retains full
responsibility for the equipment operated. Regardless of whether or not the equipment has or has
not been operated, the Contractor shall properly clean the equipment, install clean filter media, make
all required adjustments, and complete all punch list items before final acceptance by the Owner.
1.02 CODES AND STANDARDS
A. Comply with rules and regulations of public utilities anr' ,nunicipal department affected by connection

B . Laws, codes, and ordinances take precedence except where work called for by Drawings and

A. Drawings and specifications show pipe and duct sizes, general routing and location, and describe the
various sys'.,ms. These documents describe and size equipment, its general location, usage,
suppoit, and auxiliary requirements. Contract Documents do not, I iowever, detail certain job
requirements. The drawings are intended to cover the layout and design of the Work and are not to
be scaled for exact measurements. Where specific detail and dimenstor for mechanical Work are not
shown on the drawings, take ,aeasuraments and make layouts as required for the proper installation
of the mechanical Work in coordination with other Work on the project.
1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE. AND HANDLING
A. Follow manufacturer's published directions in the delivery, storage, protection, installation, piping,
and wiring, and start-up of equipment and materials.
