Applicator shall examine areas and conditions under which painting work is to be applied and notify contractor in writing of conditions detrimental to proper and timely completion of work. Section Includes: 1. Application of stripper, sealer, and finish to tile specified in Section 09650, 1.02 QUAuTY ASSURANCE A. Stripper Crew Requirement: Four -man crew; one to apply solution ahead of buffer, one to run slow -speed buffer, two with mops and buckets to pick up dirty solution behind buffer and rinse floor prior to applying sealer and finish. PART PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS A. Stripper: Bravo Stripper, by Johnson Wax. B. Sealer: Over and Under Resilient Tile Sealer, by Johnson Wax. C. Finish: Sprint Floor Finish, by Johnson Wax. D. Substitutions: None accepted. 2.02 EQUIPMENT A. Use the following equipment to perform work of this Section: 1. One automatic floor scrubber (with full charge.) 2 Two or three side -to -side slow speed buffers. 3. Five black stripping pads. 4. Five buckets with wringers. 5. Six mop head and handles. Soak new mops for 24 hours. 6. Two clean dust mops. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 PREPARATION A. Stripping should not commence for a week or more after installation of tile to ensure that tiles are laying flat and are fully adhered to the substrate. 3.02 STRIPPING A. Dust mop entire sales floor and remove gum, tar, glue, etc. from floor. B. Mix one part Stripper to four parts hot water. C. Dip mop in stripping solution, let excess solution drain off, and apply stripper to floor. Let stripper set on floor five minutes before scrubbing. Do not allow stripper to dry on floor. D. Important: With black stripping pad under the slow speed buffer, pass over each tile section at least twice. Do not rush this procedure; it is crucial. E. After a section is stripped, pick up the stripping solution Immediately with wet vacuum. F. Rinse thoroughly by mopping with clear water, removing remaining solution, finish, and dirt. Let floor dry completely. 3.03 SEALING A. Apply 2 coats of specified sealer in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 3.04 FINISHING A. Pour specified floor finish into clean mop buckets. B . Prepare new or clean mop for appl ing floor finish. C. Dip mop in floor finish, place mop in wringer and tap lightly. The mop should be full bu! not dripping. g• D. Apply two coats of specified finish to floor. Under normal conditions, allow a minimum of 45 minutes drying time between coats. E. Finish material so that brush and roller strokes are in one direction. B . Application (Thorn System Products) Cementitious Block filler: 1. Dampen wall prior to and during application. Change of color of masonry unit should be noted. Do not soak wall excessively or allow water to accumulate on the surface. 2. Apply brush, plaster type or airless sprayer coat of Cemenlitious Block Filler to the surface of flat, split - faced, rock -faced or fluted masonry units. One unit of cementitious block filler (5.6 gals) will cover 600.750 sq ft of flat faced CMU; 350 -500 sq It of split - faced, rock faced and fluted CMU. Using plaster type sprayer, spray -apply at 35 -40 PSI air pressure at spray nozzle, using a 3/16" or 1/4 spray orifice. 3.
