Subject: Support for City Attorney Efforts to Stop Castle and Cooke Initiative Petition
Mayor Tisdale and Members of the City Council
As a 28 year resident of Lake Elsinore, I am opposed to the Initiative process being used to undermine the City
Zoning Code, CEQA regulations, and land use development best practices as it relates to the proposed Alberhill
Villages Project. I fully support the City's efforts to stop the Initiative process with regard to this matter,
agreeing the proposed ordinance is unconstitutional and deprives the City of its legal rights to regulate
development and protect its financial resources.
While I support the Alberhill Villages project in theory, as approved by the Planning Commission, I cannot
support circumventing the Zoning Code and CEQA to profit a private enterprise, and place the financial burden
of mitigating the negative impacts of this project on all of the residents. Please continue your efforts to fight
this unconstitutional initiative using all legal means available to you.
