Subject:Main Street Eats BBQ Bash Road Closure
Recommendation
Recommend the City Council approve the Road Closure for the Main Street Eats BBQ Bash event
on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Background
The Community Services Department is excited to collaborate with the local group Made Local to
bring the BBQ Bash to Historic Main Street on May 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This
event will feature a variety of specialized BBQ and dessert vendors, as well as merchandise
booths and photo opportunities for attendees. With live entertainment throughout the evening, the
BBQ Bash promises to offer a dynamic, family-friendly experience that highlights the best of local
food, talent, and community spirit.
This event is expected to attract a large number of visitors, bringing increased foot traffic to the
downtown area and offering direct support to local businesses. By showcasing the charm and
energy of Historic Main Street, the BBQ Bash will not only promote the downtown district as a
vibrant destination but also encourage future events in the area. The event aligns with our goals
of fostering community engagement, boosting tourism, and creating a positive economic impact
for local businesses while providing a memorable experience for all attendees.
Discussion
Main Street Eats BBQ Bash is planned to take place on Main Street in Downtown Lake Elsinore
from 5:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Community Services Department, Public Works Department, and
the Sheriff’s Department will coordinate resources to ensure public safety. As a result, staff is
recommending street closures to Main Street between Heald and Limited as detailed in
Attachment 1. It is recommended that these street closures remain in place from 1:00 p.m. to
10:30 p.m. The street closures will be enforced by Law Enforcement personnel.

Fiscal Impact
Costs for City personnel staffing will be accommodated via the Community Services fiscal budget.
