REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY

TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1986
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was called to order at
8:00 p.m. by Chairman Matson.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: BOARDMEMBERS: MATSON, STRIGOTTE, VERMILLION, VALENZUELA
ABSENT: BOARDMEMBERS: KNIGHT
Also present were: Executive Director Molendyk, Assistant City Manager
Gilbert, Agency Counsel Harper, Community Development Director Miller,
City Engineer Keith, Finance Director Barrick and Clerk of the Board Money.
3. MINUTES
Minutes of January 14, 1986 were approved as presented.
4. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT
1) Mr. Molendyk reported that Carl's Jr. restaurant opened last week and
the retail stores behind Carl's are being completed at this time.
Mr. Palmer, the developer, is hoping to have a ground -breaking on the
sixteen acre shopping center within ninety (90) days. Architects -are,-
presently
are"presently working on a conceptual plan for the additional fifty (50)
1 acres on the other side of I-15 and Railroad Canyon Road, which they
plan to develop this year.
2) Mr. Molendyk reported that he and Mr. Miller have been working with
TS Development on a new seventeen -acre shopping center near Malaga and
Mission Trail. Major tenants will be Thrifty Drug, Builders Emporium
and a major food store chain.
3) Mr. Molendyk distributed color brochures which have been prepared by
the developers of the Highway 74 and I-15 shopping center. The
developer hopes to have data available from the consultant for
presentation at the next Agency Board meeting.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Report on Project Area No. II.
Mr. Harper reported that Mr. Nazarek has been in contact with the Finance
Director and Mr. Rolapp and they are proceeding to determine the size of
bond issue which can be considered for Project Area II.
6. NEW BUSINESS - None.
7. REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Mr. Strigotte asked if the liability issue needed to be addressed separately
for the Redevelopment Agency. Mr. Harper explained that whatever insurance
! is available to the City and Councilmembers would also cover the Redevelop-
ment Agency and its Boardmembers, as well as L.E.T.S. Boardmembers.
Mrs. Valenzuela commented that the new Heritage Bank on Mission Trail is
completed and open for business. She urged everyone to stop by and see
the new facility.
