CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was called to order by Chairman Matson at 9:20 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: BOARDMEMBERS: DOMINGUEZ, MATSON, VERMILLION, WINKLER, STRIGOTTE ABSENT: BOARDMEMBERS: NONE Also present were: Executive Director Molendyk, Assistant City Manager Gilbert, Agency Counsel Harper, Community Development Director Miller, Administrative Services Director Barrick, Public Services Director Kirchner and Clerk of the Board Oliver. 3. MINUTES A. MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 10, 1986, WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. 4. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT A. Mr. Molendyk displayed an advertisement in the recent issue of Insight Magazine and an article promoting the City. 5. UNINISHED BUSINESS Notice of Completion - Construction of Curbs, Gutters, Sidewalks and Wheelchair Ramps - J.T. Garza Construction Company. MOVED BY DOMINGUEZ, SECONDED BY VERMILLION AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY TO ACCEPT AND RECORD THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CURBS, GUTTERS, SIDEWALKS AND WHEELCHAIR RAMPS - J.T. GARZA CONSTRUC- TION COMPANY. 6. NEW BUSINESS A. Riverside Drive Re -Alignment Design Project. Mr. Kirchner reported this project involves the re -alignment of Riverside Drive (Highway 74) from approximately Gunnerson Street to Collier Avenue, to eliminate the ninety (90) degree turns. A contract has been negotiated with Northstar Engineering to provide design of road alignment, drainage facilities, right-of-way re- cruirements and cost estimates, at a fee not to exceed Eight - Thousand -Five -Hundred Dollars ($8,500) plus printing costs. Staff recommends the Agency approve contract with Northstar Engineering. MOVED BY WINKLER, SECONDED BY DOMINGUEZ AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH NORTHSTAR ENGINEERING FOR RE -ALIGNMENT OF RIVERSIDE DRIVE BETWEEN GUNNERSON STREET AND COLLIER AVENUE, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHT -THOUSAND -FIVE -HUNDRED DOLLARS ($8,500). Z Page two Redevelopment Agency Minutes September 23, 1986 6. NEW BUSINESS - Continued. B. Collier Avenue/Central Street Intersection Design Project. Mr. Kirchner reported that eleven design firms responded to Request for Proposals for re -design of the intersection of Collier Avenue and Central Street (Highway 74). Staff recom- mends Agency approve design contract with Northstar Engineering in a total amount of Ten -Thousand -Four -Hundred Dollars ($10,400) plus printing costs. MOVED BY DOMINGUEZ, SECONDED BY WINKLER AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH NORTHSTAR ENGINEERING FOR RE -DESIGN OF COLLIER AVENUE/CENTRAL STREET INTERSECTION, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT OF TEN -THOUSAND -FOUR -HUNDRED DOLLARS ($10,400). 7. REPORTS AND Mr. Matson: 1) Commented that developers attending the T & S Development groundbreaking ceremony on September 18, were very complimen- tary toward City staff. 2) Requested status report on sidewalk project. Mr. Kirchner referred to a map showing streets included in the project and estimated three to four months for completion of entire project. 3) Inquired about paving of Lakeshore Drive between Main and the San Jacinto River bridge. Mr. Kirchner estimated the project would be ready to commence in the spring. S. ADJOURNMENT MOVED BY DOMINGUEZ. SECONDED BY WINKLER AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY TO ADJOURN THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AT 9:31 P.M.
