Recommendation Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 with Excel Landscape, Inc., extending the term for an additional year and increase compensation by an additional $86,700 for a total not exceeding $353,000 in such final form as approved by the City Attorney. Background On July 12, 2022, City Council approved Amendment No. 1 for maintaining the landscaping encompassed in the street right-of-way, referred to as "streetscape." Due to the volume of maintenance work this job entails, the City contracts with vendors to supplement the staff's effort to keep up with the workload. Discussion Amendment No. 2 is being requested to incorporate additional landscape maintenance services provided for the following locations: Neighborhood Center ($22,930) Plant Irrigation/labor 1-yard cover mulch installation Small tree removal and flush cut Plant 5-gallon (iceberg rose) Standard labor Material 1812 with MP rotator nozzle PVC pipe 3/4 & PVC fittings Page 1 of 2 Excel Landscape Amendment No. 2 Canyon Hills Park ($2,746) Rain bird bubbler .25 GPM Schedule 40 1/4 in PVC pipe Misc. PVC fittings Standard Labor Irrigation Labor Additional Work at Various Locations Weed abatement Mulch installation Standard labor Herbicide Due to the unforeseen cost increases in material and labor, staff requests an adjustment to the extra work pricing. Staff would like to continue with the much-needed Landscape Maintenance Services for Citywide Facilities this fiscal year and is requesting additional funds to cover the unforeseen cost increases of services: Repairs Additional planting Increase in material and labor Plant material Irrigation Systems Maintenance Fiscal Impact Funds are available in the City's Fiscal Year 22/23 Annual Citywide Landscape Maintenance Program.
