7. PRIOR TO FINAL APPROVAL OF THE MECHANICAL PERMIT, A SMOKE DETECTOR SHUT-OFF TEST SHALL BE REQUIRED.
8 ONLY CO2 SENSORS THAT DIRECTLY TRACK THE CO2 LEVEL IN THE BREATHING ZONE ARE PERMITTED BY CEC FOR USE IN THE
DEMAND CONTROLLED VENTILATION REQUIREMENT FOR T-24 COMPLIANCE
9. THE CO2 SENSOR MUST BE FACTORY CERTIFIED TO HAVE AN ACCURACY WITHIN +75PPM AT 600 AND 1000PPM CONCENTRATION

3. HOODS, FILTERS, EXHAUST FANS, AND DUCTS SHALL HAVE A CLEARANCE OF AT LEAST 18" TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS, 3" TO
LIMITED COMBUSTIBLES MATERIAL, AND 0" TO NON-COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL (2016 CMC SEC. 507.2).
4. LISTED EXHAUST HOODS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF THEIR LISTINGS AND MANUFACTURER'S
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION (2016 CMC SEC. 510.4).
5. A PERFORMANCE TEST WILL BE REQUIRED TO VERIFY THE RATE OF AIRFLOW AND THE PROPER OPERA11ON OF THE EXHAUST AND
MAKE-UP AIR FOR KITCHEN HOOD SYSTEM BEFORE THE FINAL APPROVAL OF THIS INSTALLATION.
6. AIR HANDLING DUCT SYSTEMS, EXCEPT GREASE EXHAUST DUCT SYSTEM, SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED, INSTALLED AND INSULATED AS
PROVIDED IN CHAPTER 6 OF 2016 CMC.
7. PRIOR TO FINAL APPROVAL OF THE MECHANICAL PERMIT, A SMOKE DETECTOR SHUT-OFF TEST SHALL BE REQUIRED.
8. ONLY CO2 SENSORS THAT DIRECTLY TRACK THE CO2 LEVEL IN THE BREATHING ZONE ARE PERMITTED BY CEC FOR USE IN THE
DEMAND CONTROLLED VENTILATION, REQUIREMENT FOR T-24 COMPLIANCE.
9. THE CO2 SENSOR MUST BE FACTORY CERTIFIED TO HAVE AN ACCURACY WITHIN +75PPM AT 600 AND 1000PPM CONCENTRATION
WHEN MEASURED AT SEA LEVEL AND 25C(77F) FACTORY CALIBRATED OR CALIBRATED AT START-UP AND CERTTEIED BY THE
MANUFACTURER TO REQUIRE CALIBRATION NO MORE FREQUENTLY THAN ONCE EVERY 5 YEARS.
10.THE INSIDE EDGE OF CANOPY TYPE COMMERCIAL EXHAUST HOOD SHALL EXTEND A HORIZONTAL DISTANCE OF NOT LESS THAN 6
INCHES BEYOND THE EDGE OF THE COOKING SURFACE OF ALL OPEN SIDES AND VERTICLE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE
COOKING SURFACE SHALL NOT EXCEED 4 FEET.
11.EXHAUST OUTLET TERMINATION OF GREASE DUCT FROM HINGED UPBLAST FAN SHALL EXTEND THROUGH THE ROOF SHALL NOT BE
