Subject:Acquisition of City Fleet Vehicles
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Purchase Order with Aaron Chevrolet in an
amount not to exceed $99,842.38 for the purchase of two (2) City Fleet Vehicles in such final form
as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
The City of Lake Elsinore has historically purchased and owned all fleet vehicles and equipment.
The City maintains a fleet of vehicles and equipment for use by various City departments, which
include light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. The City owns 72 light and medium-duty vehicles;
on average, these vehicles are ten years old.
The Public Works Department is seeking approval to purchase two (2) 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 trucks.
These vehicles feature larger cab sizes, allowing for transporting multiple personnel alongside
cargo. With their robust capabilities, the trucks are well-suited for towing and transporting
essential equipment, traffic control gear, and supplies necessary for various public works projects.
This will enhance the department's operational efficiency and support its workforce effectively.
