Good Morning Gina,
Thank you for sharing this update. The county's position remains the same - we are committed to
supporting what’s best for the majority of our cities. Our aim is for the branding to authentically
reflect the consensus of our city stakeholders and truly represent the region.
On more of a personal note, I resonate with much of what you shared. None of the branding
concepts stood out as a perfect fit for me but we don’t live and breathe Southwest County in the
same way each of you do. As we know, branding efforts are always a complex process—
especially when it involves multiple organizations with diverse perspectives. We’ve all likely
experienced how challenging this can be, and when we factor in the input of numerous partners,
the task becomes even more intricate.
Supporting you all,

Friends,
I wanted you to know as my colleagues the concerns of LE on the branding initiative that has been
brought up to the EDC.
Feedback that I received is that we should have two more directions given to us when we have only
reviewed one direction this far-which is location. All three Ideas that we received are surrounding
location only and when we started this journey when we sold all the city’s on this initiative - was that it
would be surrounding job creation. That at minimum should have been a direction.
1. location (more than meets the map, room to bloom, etc)
2. job creation
3. ?
We don’t care for any of the directions- at all. In fact, the bloom one is a no because it’s extremely
sensitive for Lake Elsinore. Especially when we’ve had law-enforcement pass away from the blooms.
We shouldn’t be doing logos, design, colors and website without nailing the tagline first. People are
swayed by colors and design in selecting a tagline. Typically these things are in black-and-white first, So
that they do not sway the subjective mind.
Also, One shouldn’t have to listen to a story to understand why or what something is in order to
understand the context or meaning behind it …lastly, the stakeholder interviews should have been
conducted upfront as Our chamber never got interviewed and one of our council members got picked
off for the next process when they should’ve both been included in the early stakeholder discussions …
picked off and broken up especially when it Is a council member who wasn’t interviewed and as part of
my economic development ad-hoc. I don’t know what everybody’s feedback was on what was
presented, but I definitely wanted you guys to know what Lake Elsinore concerns are and that we can’t
support what was presented.
I did share these in person with Connie…so they aren’t new or will shock anyone, but I realized you all
weren’t aware of our city concerns.
