Hi Gina,
I am not a fan, either. The choices all seem pretty basic, for one thing.
And I agree about the super blooms – I cannot really believe that was brought up as an option.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to be present for much of this process. Doodle polls or nor
doodle polls, the meetings somehow get scheduled at the same time that I have other
meetings scheduled – and perhaps sometimes it was a meeting that was added after I
responded to Connie’s doodle poll, I don’t know…. Obviously part of my challenge of being a
department of only me, myself and I. ☹ In fact, today I have a monthly reoccurring meeting at
2:30 that I am in charge of – so I don’t think I voted for today’s meeting time. I will be on from
2:00-2:30.
I think when I originally envisioned referring to ourselves as the “Greater Temecula Valley,”
(fashioned after Napa Valley branding), what I had really imagined was keeping most of the
EDC’s current branding, colors, etc…. and just using “Greater Temecula Valley” as more of a
location description.
Ex: The Economic Development Coalition of the Greater Temecula Valley.
That’s it. I have never thought or been onboard with completely rebranding everything. Again.
We really just need a “locator.” The EDC…. Where?
Just my two cents. Sorry that I have not been able to participate at the level I had hoped.
Working on an intern opportunity to add to my department here… say a prayer for me. LOL
PS – Great job on the news interview!! ❤

Friends,
I wanted you to know as my colleagues the concerns of LE on the branding initiative that
has been brought up to the EDC.
Feedback that I received is that we should have two more directions given to us when we
have only reviewed one direction this far-which is location. All three Ideas that we
received are surrounding location only and when we started this journey when we sold
all the city’s on this initiative - was that it would be surrounding job creation. That at
minimum should have been a direction.
1. location (more than meets the map, room to bloom, etc)
2. job creation
3. ?
We don’t care for any of the directions- at all. In fact, the bloom one is a no because it’s
extremely sensitive for Lake Elsinore. Especially when we’ve had law-enforcement pass
away from the blooms.
We shouldn’t be doing logos, design, colors and website without nailing the tagline first.
People are swayed by colors and design in selecting a tagline. Typically these things are
in black-and-white first, So that they do not sway the subjective mind.
Also, One shouldn’t have to listen to a story to understand why or what something is in
order to understand the context or meaning behind it …lastly, the stakeholder interviews
should have been conducted upfront as Our chamber never got interviewed and one of
our council members got picked off for the next process when they should’ve both been
included in the early stakeholder discussions …picked off and broken up especially
when it Is a council member who wasn’t interviewed and as part of my economic
development ad-hoc. I don’t know what everybody’s feedback was on what was
presented, but I definitely wanted you guys to know what Lake Elsinore concerns are and
that we can’t support what was presented.
I did share these in person with Connie…so they aren’t new or will shock anyone, but I
realized you all weren’t aware of our city concerns.
