10. GENERAL CONDITIONS
10.FIRE.999PC - #01 -West Fire Protection Planning Office Responsibility IN EFFECT
It is the responsibility of the recipient of these Fire Department conditions to forward them
to all interested parties. The building permit number is required on all correspondence.
Questions should be directed to the Riverside County Fire Department, Fire Protection Planning
Division at 2300 Market St. Suite 150, Riverside, CA 92501. Phone: (951) 955 -4777, Fax: (951)

10.FIRE.999 PC = #02 - Approved Systems IN EFFECT
All of the following conditions titled "Prior to Final Inspection" and /or any type of fire
suppression systems must be reviewed, inspected and approved by the Riverside County
Fire Department prior to Building Safety's final inspection, The Fire Department letter of
conditions, job card and approved plans must be at the job site for all inspections.
10.FIRE.999 PC - #18 -- Minimum Required Fire Flow IN EFFECT
The Fire Department is required to set a minimum fire flow for the remodel or construction
of all commercial buildings in accordance with Ordinance 787 and the California Fire
Code. A fire flow of 1500 gpm for a 2 hour duration at 20 psi residual operating pressure
must be available before any combustible material is placed on the job site. A minimum
number of 1 Super fire hydrant(s) (6 "x4 "x2V2' x21/2 ") shall be provided for this project.
Additional fire hydrants may be required to meet the spacing requirements of the California
Fire Code.
10.FIRE.999 PC - #31 - On /Off Not Looped FH IN EFFECT
A combination of on -site and off -site super fire hydrants (6 "x4 "x21/2 "x21/2") shall be provided

spaced an average of 250 feet between fire hydrants and in no case shall fire hydrants be
further than 500 feet from any portion of on a street or road frontage as measured along
approved vehicular travel ways. The required fire flow shall be available from any
adjacent hydrant(s) in the system.
10.FIRE.999 PC - #8413 — Aboveground Tank Permits IN EFFECT
Applicant/developer shall be responsible for obtaining permits from the Riverside County
Fire Department for aboveground fuel storage tanks in accordance with Ordinance 787
and the California Fire Code. At least three copies of plans and specification sheets must
be submitted to the Fire Department for review and approval prior to installation.
Aboveground fuel tanks shall be tested and labeled to UL 2085 Protected Tank Standard.
The test must include the Projectile Penetration Test and the Heavy Vehicle Impact Test.
A copy of the tank testing label from an Independent test laboratory must be included with
the plan submittal. Current plan check deposit based fee is $217.00 for the first tank and
32.00 for each additional tank.
10,FIRE.999 PC - #84D — Flammable, Combustible Liquids
and Hazardous Material Permits
IN EFFECT
Applicant/developer shall be responsible for obtaining permits from the Riverside County
Fire Department for the storage, dispensing or use of any hazardous materials, flammable
or combustible liquids in accordance with Ordinance 787 and the California Fire Code.
Plans and specification sheets must be submitted to the Fire Department for review and
approval prior to installation. A chemical analysis /classificatlon report by a Fire
Department approved Independent consultant may be required for plan review. The Fire
Department may require an approved Hazardous Materials Management Plan or
Hazardous Materials Inventory Statement as a part of the permit. Current plan check
deposit based fee is $307.00 for each permit.
10.FIRE.999 PC - #04A— Combustible High Pile Storage Permit IN EFFECT
This building has not been reviewed or approved for high pile /rack storage. Prior to such
use, bullding(s) shall be approved for high -piled storage (materials In closely packed piles
or on pallets, or in racks where the top of storage exceeds 12 feet in height, 8 feet for
Group A plastics and /or certain other high hazard commodities) or aerosols products.
High -piled and aerosol stock shall be approved by the Fire Department prior to materials
being stored on site. A licensed Fire Protection Engineer or a Fire Department approved
consultant must prepare plans for high -piled storage or aerosol storage in accordance with
the 2007 California Fire Code and adopted standards. Current plan check deposit based
fee is $348,00.
10.FIRE.999 PC - #79 — Occupancy Limitations Based on Hazardous Materials. IN EFFECT
It is prohibited to use /process or store any hazardous material in this occupancy that
would exceed the maximum allowable quantities in the California Building Code and /or
California Fire Code. Any change to the use, process, and quantities or to the type of
hazardous materials shall be approved by Riverside County Fire Department. Submittal of
hazardous material classification and quantification report and plans will be required. A
change of the above or reclassification of an occupancy type to an "H" occupancy will
required a full plan submittal to the Building and Fire departments.
10.FIRE.999 PC - #005 — Roofing Material IN EFFECT

All buildings shall be constructed with Class B roofing materlal as per the California
Building Code.
80. PRIOR TO BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE
80.FIRE.999 TIPC - #05 — Plan Check Fee IN EFFECT
Tenant improvement plans have been reviewed, however, a separate plan check deposit
based fee of $212.00 made payable to the Riverside County Fire Department, in the form
of a check or money order only, must be submitted to the Fire Department. Fire
Department "Submittal Form" must be completed along with payment. Available on line at

90. PRIOR TO BUILDING FINAL INSPECTION
90-FIRE-999 TIPC - #06A — Adjust Sprinkler System IN EFFECT
The fire sprinkler system within the building or tenant space was approved for the original
layout and commodities of the original or a past occupancy, The sprinkler system will
need to be modified and designed in accordance with adopted standards. A licensed C -16
contractor shall do all sprinkler work and /or certification. Plans, along with the current
deposit based fee, shall be submitted to the Fire Department for review and approval prior
to installation.
90.FIRE.999 TIPC - #065 —Title 19 Fire Sprinkler Certification IN EFFECT
A five year sprinkler service and certification for the existing sprinkler system is required
per Title 19. A licensed C -16 contractor must complete the servicing and certification.
Documentation of completed work must be submitted to the Fire Department. The
maintenance records for the sprinkler system must be available on -site for review by a FireDepartmentInspector.
90.FIRE.999 TIPC - #07 — Designated Fire Lanes IN EFFECT
Existing fire lanes shall be maintained and additional fire lanes may be required. Contact
the Fire Department for guidance and any plan requirements. The current deposit based
plan check fee is $212.00
90.FIRE.999 TIPC #08A — Extinguishers — Minimum IN EFFECT
Install a portable fire extinguisher, with a minimum rating of 2A -10BC, for every 3,000 sq. ft, and /or 75 feet of travel distance. Fire extinguishers shall be mounted no higher than 5 ft
above finished floor, as measured to the top of the extinguisher. Where not readily visible,
signs shall be posted above all extinguishers to Indicate their locations. Extinguishers
must have current CSFM service tags affixed; or within one year of from the date of month
and year of manufacture. (NOTE: If only a year of manufacture is indicated, maintenance
shall be due January 1"of the year following.)
90.FIRE.999 TIPC #09 -- Adjust Alarm System IN EFFECT
The existing fire alarm system shall be modified to provide proper coverage as required bytheCaliforniaBuildingCode, California Fire Code and adopted standards.. A C -10
licensed contractor must submit plans, along with the current deposit based fee, to the Fire

90.FIRE.999 PC - #89A— Rapid Entry Knox Box IN EFFECT
A rapid entry Knox Box shall be installed on the outside of the building. If the
building /facility is protected with a fire alarm or burglar alarm system, if is recommended
that the lock box be "tamper" monitoring. Special forms are available from this office for
ordering the Knox Box,
90.FIRE.999 PC - #012 — Emergency Evacuation Plan IN EFFECT
Applicant/developer must submit an emergency evacuation plan to the Fire Department for
review and approval prior to installation. Evacuation Plan(s) must be posted In the buildingatlocationsapprovedbytheFireDepartment.
90.FIRE.999 PC - #014 — Display Address — Building IN EFFECT
Display street numbers In a prominent location an the address side of building(s) and rearaccessifapplicable. Numbers and letters shall be a minimum of 12" in height for
building(s) up to 25' in height and 24" in height for building(s) exceeding 25' in height, All
addressing must be legible, of a contrasting color with the background and adequatelyilluminatedtobevisiblefromthestreetatallhours. All lettering shall be to ArchitecturalStandards.
90-FIRE-999 PC- #015 — Electrical Room Sign IN EFFECT
Electrical room door shall be posted "ELECTRICAL ROOM" on the outside of the door.
90.FIRE.999 PC - #016 — Occupant Load Sign IN EFFECT
Room occupancy load, as approved by the Building Official, shall be posted in a
conspicuous place near the main exit from the room(s). The location shall be approved bytheFireDepartment. Posting shall be by means of an approved durable sign having a
contrasting color from the background to which it is attached. The owner shall maintain
signs in a legible manner. No person shall deface, remove or change the occupant load
on the sign except as authorized by the Building Official and /or Fire Department.
90-FIRE-999 PC - #0 ?? — Egress Door Hardware IN EFFECT
All egress door hardware shall comply with the California Building Code.
90.FIRE.999 PC — Final Inspection IN EFFECT
Prior to human occupancy you must be cleared by the Fire Department. Call our office to
