Page 1 of 1 REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL To:Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council From:Jason Simpson, City Manager Prepared by:Damaris Abraham, Assistant Community Development Director Date:March 14, 2024 Subject:General Plan Update - City Council Study Session No. 3 Recommendation Discuss and provide direction to staff regarding the General Plan Update. Background The City recently launched the General Plan Update program. As part of the engagement process, the project team is hosting up to five (5) City Council study sessions to identify and discuss issues, proposed plans, and other subjects at key points during the planning process. The first study session conducted on December 12, 2023, explored what the City Council members envision for Lake Elsinore’s future. The second study session held on February 22, 2025, explored key findings from the Existing Conditions Atlas, Draft Market Analysis Findings, and Proposed Transportation Improvements. Discussion This third study session will include a review of historical residential and non-residential development activity and presentation of 2045 projections for population, housing, and non- residential development. This session will also include a visioning/land use activity to create a land use “vision” map. Fiscal Impact There are no fiscal impacts associated with this item.
