Flyer attached with details. Save the Date:  Saturday, March 16th – Amazing Outlet Race at the Outlets at Lake Elsinore. Event will be held between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Details to follow.  Sunday, March 17th – “Sip N Swing” at Diamond Stadium. Details to follow.  Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th – National Waterski Races at Launch Pointe. Details to follow.  Thursday, April 11th – Storm Opening Night at Diamond Stadium at 6:00 p.m.  Saturday, April 13th – Lake Opening Day  Saturday, April 20th – Eggapalooza at McVicker Canyon Park between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Free event for all, egg hunt at 1 p.m. for ages 2 to 7 years. Activity booths, live entertainment, amusements. Flyer attached with details.  Sunday, April 21st – Unity 5K / 10K Run/Walk at Diamond Stadium Levee between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.  Saturday, April 27th – Clean Extreme at the Levee. Details to follow.  Saturday, May 4th – Reality Rally “Amazing Race” Game from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Temecula.  Saturday, May 4th – JDRF Run at Diamond Stadium. Details to follow.  Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th – Extreme Fishing Derby at Launch Pointe. Details to follow.  Saturday, May 18th – 5th Annual Lambs Fellowship Car & Bike Show at 10:00 a.m. Flyer attached with details. 2 Other Items:  The Railroad Canyon Widening Project began this week. Construction hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and include regular lane closures throughout the project. One lane will remain open at all times, with some exceptions. The City will be sure to post information regarding planned closures whenever possible. A flyer has been attached.  The Holy Flood Ready flyer with details on alerts, etc. has been attached for your information. For everyone’s safety, it provides a highly recommended timeline to follow when storms and inclement weather are approaching.  The Elsinore Christmas Bird Count was recently taken (this also includes some surrounding areas Canyon Lake, Wildomar, parts of Menifee, and along the Ortega Mountains/Hwy). The tally ended up with 125 species, including five (5) Bald Eagles at the Lake and a rare Lesser Black-backed Gull. The 125 total is down from the 138 species last year, but this is the average count total for the past few years. Some beautiful photos are attached of birds seen during the count.  Military Care Package Donations - Donations continue to be accepted for the Military Care Packages through our Community Services Department (flyer attached with suggested items). Please have them email recreation@lake-elsinore.org to get on the care package list. A flyer is attached noting required information to get on that list.  Current City of Lake Elsinore Job Openings: City Engineer Description: Under administrative direction, plans, organizes and coordinates the services of the Engineering Division; coordinates activities with other City officials, departments, outside agencies, organizations and the public; serves as a technical resource for assigned staff and the City Manager; performs other related duties as required. Senior Civil Engineer Description: Under direction, leads, oversees, reviews, and performs professional and technical engineering work in the design, investigation, project management, and construction of streets, storm drainage facilities, parks, buildings, and other projects; administers engineering consultant and construction contracts; ensures safe work practices, work quality and accuracy; maintains appropriate work records; serves as a technical resource for assigned work staff; performs other related duties as required. Recreation Aide Description: Provides assistance during City events, programs, and at City facilities and parks. This position will require working weekends and evenings.
