Greetings Madam Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, Councilmembers and City Officials, am Araceli Jimenez. It is my desire that this message finds you all well. Speaking of wellness, I reside in north Lake Elsinore near Nichols Road, and I understand that the Lansing Companies propose a one million plus square foot mega warehouse on the same Nichols Road. I must refer to the following December 29, 2022, The Guardian article by Maanvi Singh and Aliya Uteuova titled: "Revealed: how warehouses took over southern California `like a slow death". It states, Emissions from warehouse operations contribute to some of the worst air pollution in the US. A report from the local air quality monitoring management district found that people living within half a mile of warehouses have higher rates of asthma and heart attacks than residents in the area overall. Given the potential environmental impact mega warehouses bring, I suggest the above mentioned project be reconsidered at another location where the health of local residents are not at risk. Transparency from our elected officials is what I look forward to, and I ask the well- being of Lake Elsinore residents be a priority in reviewing the Lansing Companies warehouse project proposal. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Flagged (Message from external sender. Use Caution. Dear Lake Elsinore City Council Members, I am a Lake Elsinore resident, living off of Grand near the site of all the current development on Lake St and Nichols Rd- I have been trying to obtain clearly defined plans by the city council members regarding widening of Lake St from the 15 Fwy as well as widening of Nichols Rd to accommodate the now massive building projects planned or underway and the enormous increase in traffic that can be expected due to these projects. I was unaware until now of the planned million square foot warehouse that will be right in the middle of the rest of this development. So please tell me-what plans are there to accommodate this enormous increase in traffic and who is going to pay for it? These projects involve well-funded development and other related companies. Are they going to foot the bill, as they should, as part of their funding, or will the citizens of Lake Elsinore be stuck paying the bill for wealthy developers as has happened with some other developments in the city? Thank you for your timely response to this highly concerned resident and taxpayer. I ask that this email be read for all in attendance at your next public meeting regarding these development efforts inclusive of your response, and that you open the floor to discussion following. Sincerely, Dan Koenig Candice Alvarez From: Yvonne Navarro < Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2023 8:16 AM To: Timothy J. Use Caution. Good Afternoon, My wife and I live in and own the home at 3971 Ash Street in the Alberhill Ranch district. Our HOA has informed us that there is a proposal and a consideration for a Warehouse project that the Lansing companies would like to build between Nichols Rd. and Terra Cotta. We have talked to many of our neighbors about this and all agree that this is not a good fit for our neighborhood for the following reasons: 1. There are, as I know you are aware, several hundred new homes being built in the immediate and adjacent neighborhoods. This obviously means many new cars coming to the neighborhood and that obviously means much heavier traffic then we already have. 2. We realize Lake Street and Nichols Rd. are being widened, but only partially. We really need Lake Street to be four lanes from the freeway but that obviously is not going to happen anytime soon, although it is my understanding that this was supposed to be done a while back. This will add to the traffic problem. 3. Further,to my understanding, the widening of Nichols Rd. stops at Terra Cotta. That means there will most assuredly be a bottleneck effect at that point, especially during traffic hours. 4. Lastly, if we add a big warehouse to the area, that means many large trucks will be constantly traveling the road. That in our opinion will turn a barely tolerable traffic situation into a nightmare. We understand and appreciate the desire for progress and new sources of revenue for the city. However, this we believe, is the wrong kind of progress. Perhaps an upscale retail project with a grocery store, etc. would be better suited for the area. In closing, we would like to express that Alberhill Ranch is a very pretty, well maintained community and adding a warehouse next to it would impact the nice esthetics of our neighborhood, not to mention potentially hurting the value of our homes. We believe the neighborhood is unanimously and vehemently opposed to this warehouse project. Thanks you for your consideration of our view on this matter, Tony and Pat Ponzo 1 Candice Alvarez From: Salvador Solano < Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2023 9:08 AM To: Candice Alvarez Subject: [External]Mega werehouse Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Flagged (Message from external sender. Use Caution. Hi Ms Alvarez my name is Salvador Solano and I'm against of this mega warehouse project on Nichols Canyon reason is the traffic will be terrible on our area, and then our residential community will be rated to commercial residential witch I don't think is fair for us. Use Caution. We don't want this warehouse here. This is not okay. I don't know where your homes are but I'm sure you won't like it if someone was building this right next to your home. Not everything is money.Think about all the pollution and chaos this thing will bring. I know some of you have kids. Shane on you for even allowing this to be proposed.
