Use Caution. Hi Candice, REMEMBER THIS MONEY STAYS IN LAKE ELSINORE FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR RESIDENTS! Lake Elsinore has been a fiscally responsible and conservative city. A large percentage of our locally generated sales tax revenue must go to services provided by the County of Riverside and the State of California. This is very difficult while the City continues to grow. During 2020, this has become difficult with COVID-19. To determine what services the citizens believe are necessary, the City has done surveys. Measure Z will fund additional fire protection and paramedic services; fix streets and sidewalks; keep public areas clean; prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies. All of the Measure Z income stays in Lake Elsinore. I am voting for Measure Z and urge your vote for Measure Z. Ruth Atkins 25 Year Lake Elsinore Resident P. S. Thank you so much, Candice. Hi candice, Below are my comments to be read into the record at tonight's city council meeting regarding measure Z. My name is Cheryl Smith and I am a 26 year resident of Lake Elsinore. I'm writing in to encourage residents support measure Z. Measure Z will fund vital services like police and fire. I believe 9-1-1 response times need to be improved and I believe Measure Z will do that. There is a lot of miss information floating around and I would encourage voters to educate themselves on what measures Z could do for our community. I support measure z because we need to ensure our City's future is well planned for. Thank you Mr Mayor and council. Use Caution. This is for the Voters of Lake Elsinore. Vote No on Measure Z. Are you all getting the robo calls, text messages, shiny brochures, all the fake news post? Who is paying for all of this for Measure Z the special interest Lake Elsinore Chamber, who in the last 5 years received about $600,000.00 from the city? The RSA Riverside Sheriffs Association Union, RCSD so they can raise our rates folks. Why aren' t they mentioning the money f rom Measure Z will go to pay for our homeless motel downtown folks. I say it's time the city cuts the fat and stops the waste. We all want more boots on the ground, I have always wanted more safety and our own Lake Elsinore Police Department. It's like the Russian Witch Hunt folks, a smaller Lake Elsinore version. Remember things will come out in the wash. . . . . . Praying Measure Z bites the dust, November 3rd. Ace Vallejos "Vote NO on Measure Z....unless you don't mind paying$300-$500 more on your next car purchase. Remember car purchase taxes are based on where you live, not where you buy. 1 cent= 1% increase in Lake Elsinore City tax rate. The city of lake elsinore has a 3 year reserve, most citizens including those on fixed incomes, disabled, seniors do not have a reserve.Vote No on Measure Z for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Even the strong arm tactics won't stop seniors from getting the message from getting out. Use Caution. This is for the public I am asking everyone to VOTE NO ON MEASURE Z. I have already voted no, the last thing we need at this time is another tax! Our water rates are high and going up January 2021, our federal and states are going up at the first of the year. Measure Z is deceiving it's actually a 1%tax increase on our purchases. I AM ASKING EVERYONE TO UNITE WITH ME AND OTHERS VOTE NO ON MEASURE Z. Praying Measure Z Bites the dust. Ms. Alvarez, I am not able to attend the City Council meeting in person, but I would like to state my support for Measure Z. I believe it is necessary to provide needed public safety services for our City. The pension costs for public safety(Riverside County Sheriff contract services, and CalFire services) are a large part of the costs for their services. We cannot move into a deficit position in the City budget. I also would encourage the City to outsource as many additional services as possible. Defined benefit pensions are a huge part of the operating budget for the City, and basically exist for government entities. At the same time, I would like to hear the opinion of each Council Member on their support or disapproval of this measure.
