Skinner, Community Service Director Prepared by: Beau Davis, Recreation Supervisor Date:March12, 2019 Subject:Lake Elsinore Family Fun Community Storm Event–StreetClosures Recommendation 1.Approve Temporary Street Closures for the Lake Elsinore Family Fun Community Storm Eventon March23, 2019. Background This is the first Lake Elsinore Family Fun Community Storm Event sponsored by the Lake Elsinore Storm.The Lake Elsinore Storm are preparing for their 26th season and hope to excite the community of the upcoming season with games, entertainment, baseball player meet and greet, live music, food, free game tickets, and more. Discussion The Lake Elsinore Family Fun Community Storm Eventis planned to take place at City Park in Downtown Lake Elsinorefrom 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Community Services Department, Public Works Department and Sheriff’s Department will coordinate resources to ensure public safety. The event hostanticipateapproximately 500 attendees. As a result, staffis recommendingstreet closuresofLibrary Street between Main Street and SpringStreet as well as South West bound lanes of Main Street from Limited through Library, as detailedin Exhibit A. It is recommended that these street closures remain in place from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m. The street closureswill be enforced by Law Enforcementpersonnel. Fiscal Impact Costs forCity personnel staffing will be collected via the special event permitting fees. In addition, the event organizers are required to pay any related Sheriff fees directly to RSO. The event organizer is also required to pay the encroachment permit application fee at least seven days prior to the event.
