On August 17th, the non-profit Feeding America
Riverside San Bernardino Counties brought trucks
of donated food to Summerlake Park to distribute
food to Holy Fire Victims and Evacuees.
By noon, they distributed 15,534 pounds of food to
176 individuals and their family’s in Lake Elsinore.

City Council District 1
•Per CA Election Code 10229 when
only one candidate qualifies the
Council may cancel the election
and appoint the candidate.
•On August 21st the City Council
adopted Resolution No. 2018-116,
cancelling the election for District 1
and appointing Brian Tisdale as the
elected candidate.
•District 1 covers a portion of the
North end of the lake including the
Machado area, the areas along
Grand Avenue and a portion of the
Serenity neighborhood on the
Southwest end of the City, Corydon
Rd., Palomar St., Stonewood Way,
Stoneman St.

Holy Fire Updates

August 27th Flare Up burned an
additional 150 acres with 10% percent
containment.
Personnel increased from 300
firefighters and 10 air crafts.
Low Risk to the City
All Roads Reopened within the City
93% contained entirely,100% fire containment
expected on September 2nd, which may
change.

In Loving Memory of Senator John McCain
(1936 –2018)
•During the Vietnam War, McCain was shot
down and captured by North Vietnamese
forces. He was held as a POW for more than
five years.
•He was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze
Star, the Legion of Merit, a Purple Heart and
the Distinguished Flying Cross.
•John McCain began his involvement in politics
in 1976, as the Navy’s Liaison to the U.S.
Senate.
•John McCain held office as a U.S. Senator for
Arizona from 1986 until his death.
•John McCain died on August 25th, 2018 from
brain cancer.
