The Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce is made up of business owners throughout the City of Lake Elsinore, many of whom share concern regarding this policy's potential to change and/or expand its impact on existing businesses in the community. We understand the need to be mindful of development around schools, housings, hospitals, recreation areas and other sensitive receptors. But we encourage the council to consider a policy that that is not broad and expansive in nature. The good neighbor policy should not be a policy that can expand its effect on existing businesses in our community. If this is an effort to stop one development from occurring in our community, it's our position that the City of Lake Elsinore move in the direction of addressing that one specific development rather than an creating an overarching policy that has the potential to change and grow over time to potentially impacting the Economic Development cycle for our City. There are not many flat areas in Lake Elsinore to build 250,000 sq. foot+ industrial buildings. We encourage the Council to consider a policy that does not target one specific industry, rather sets parameters for ANY and ALL building & development in Lake Elsinore to fit within the 2040 Plan. As such consideration must be taken into account to the consistency with the Adopted General Plan,Specific Plans and applicable Zoning Code. If a committee is formed to develop recommendations regarding policies for industrial development, it is our hope the LakeElsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce a Voice for our Business Community will be a part of those conversations, as policies are considered. Thank you for your dedication to our City..
