Subject: Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement with Hemet Fence Corporation for the
Citywide Fencing Services Agreement
Recommendation
Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement with Hemet Fence
Corporation and increase compensation by an additional $110,000 for FY21-22 for a not to
exceed amount of$140,000 in such final form as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
The City entered into an Agreement with Hemet Fence Corporation for Citywide Fence Services
on July 1, 2019, for a contract amount of $30,000 with an option of two 12-month extensions.
Amendment No. 2 dated July 2, 2020, extended the term of the contract for an additional 12-
months for FY20-21, as allowed for in the Original Agreement, and adjusted compensation to
$96,500. Amendment No. 3 was approved by Council on February 23, 2021, for the increased
compensation amount of $119,800 to allow for additional projects scheduled for completion in
FY20-21. On June 22, 2021, Amendment No. 4 was approved by Council reduced compensation
amount of$30,000 and extended the term of the contractor for an additional 12-months as allowed
for in the Original Agreement.
Discussion
Hemet Fence has proved to be responsive to the City's needs by providing a high standard of
service and has demonstrated that they have the City's best interest in mind. Staff has requested
compensation to a not to exceed amount of $140,000 for FY21-22. Staff would like to continue
with much-needed repairs this fiscal year and is requesting additional funds to complete the
following projects:
• Fence installation at Tuscany Hills Park
• Fence installation at Launch Pointe
• Fence installation end of Summer Hill Drive
