CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS Council Member Tisdale advised that the Western Riverside Council of Governments hired a new Executive Director; provided updates from the California Council of Governments; urged residents to practice fire safety; encouraged residents to seek information regarding mosquitoes at northwestmvcd .org; announced that the Senior Cooling Center is now open Monday through Friday and noted County Cooling Centers; and announced that the Wall that Heals is coming to Corona October 7-10, 2021. Council Member Johnson thanked the public safety team for its efforts on the Fourth of July; announced the installation of the new flock cameras; congratulated Animal Friends of the Valleys for being named a California Nonprofit of the Year; provided an update on the Homeless Task Force; and invited the community to attend National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Summerly Park. Council Member Manos spoke on presentations received during the Cal Cities Riverside County Division General Membership meeting, encouraged the community to donate blood, spoke on the drought, and reported on the State budget and legislation; announced the new double left turn lanes on Rosetta Canyon Dr. approaching Central Avenue; announced the start of the State Route 74/Ortega Highway Widening Project including full street closures; and invited the community to attend the Hometown Country Music Fest on July 24, 2021 at Storm Stadium. Mayor Pro Tem Sheridan announced a Canyon Hills town hall meeting around September 23, 2021; advised that a median will be installed at the intersection of Canyon Hills Rd. and Sprucewood Way; reported on his attendance at the ground -breaking of St. Frances of Rome church which is anticipated to open in summer 2022; spoke on the Party in the Park on the 4th of July at Summerly Community Park; congratulated the Lake Elsinore Little League Majors All Stars for competing in the District 28 tournament; invited the community to the Storm baseball game on July 29, 2021 during which they will be playing the Fresno Grizzlies; and announced the Grand re -opening of the Fight Therapy Foundation on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Magee advised of downtown striping and signage improvements; announced the San Diego SCCA Autocross event July 24-25, 2021 at Diamond Stadium; advised that the Hydro -turf Best of the West changed its event dates to Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Launch Pointe; and adjourned the meeting in memory of Leora E.
