- WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs are an integral part of communities
throughout this country, including the City of Lake Elsinore; s
'WHERE -AS, our parks and recreation are vitally important to Establishing and
maintaining the quality of Ctfe in our communities, ensuring the health of AC citizens, and
contributing to the economic and environmentaCtive CC-be ing of a community andregion;
IwHEREAS, parks and recreation programs buiCd heaahy, active communities that aid
in the prevention of chronic disease, and also improve the mental and emotional health of aCl
citizens;
-WHEREAS, parks andrecreationprograms increase a community's economic prosperity
through increasedproperty vaCues, andcrime reduction;
- WHER.EAS, parks andrecreation areas are furidamentaCto the environmentaCweffbeing
of our community by improving water andair qualty;
- WHEREAS, our parks and natural recreation areas ensure the ecoCogicaC beauty of our
community andprovide a pCace for chiCdren and adults to connect with nature and recreate
outdoors;
'WHEREAS, the 'U.S. House of Representatives has designated JuCy as Parks and
Recreation .Month; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elsinore recognizes the benefits derived from parks and
recreation resources.
NOU, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lake Elsinore, California, does hereby procCaim the month of
JuCy zozo as Park and Recreation Month in the City of Lake
Elsinore and further extends appreciation to aCl supportive
staff for the vitaCservices they perform and their exempCary
dedication to the community.
