Project Contract Change Order, CIP Project No. Z10010
Recommendation
Authorize the City Manager to execute a change orderin theamount of $20,443.60to be paid to
I.E. General Engineering.
Background
On June 25, 2019, CityCouncil Authorized City Manager to award $338,747.60 to I.E. General
Engineering for the construction of Chaney Street curb and gutter, sidewalk, and additional
surface drainage improvements. The original amount authorized included original contract
amount and minor contingency. The project limits are from Sumner Ave to Flint Street.
Change order cost reflects change in Pavement rehabilitation from a slurry seal to mill and
overlay. The change in treatment provides for a more durable final product and longer life of the
new pavement. The change order also reflects additional Square foot quantitiesforADA Ramps
and Cross Gutters.
Discussion
Contractor bids were opened publicly on June 10, 2019, The City received ten(10) bidsfrom
qualified contractors.I.E. General Engineeringwas the apparent low bidder and was awarded
the construction contract on June 25, 2019.
I.E. Completed the construction of the project. Final Payment will be pending final inspection
and acceptance by the Engineering inspector.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project has been allocated via SB 821 Grant and General Fund and Gas Tax.
