Subject: Appointment to the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District (NWMVCD)
Recommendation
Consider the request of the NWMVCD to reappoint Council Member Tisdale to serve as a Trustee for
four years.
Background
Each year the City Council considers the appointments of Council Members to serve as a
representative to various organizations throughout the County and State. Typically, these
appointments are all considered at the first meeting in January. NWMVCD Trustees serve a term of
either two or four years.
Discussion
Council Member Tisdale is currently the representative serving as a Trustee and the Vice-President
for the NWMVCD, with his term expiring on December 31, 2018. Staff received a letter (Exhibit A)
requesting that Member Tisdale be reappointed to a four-year term from District Manager Major S.
Dhillon, Ph.D. The request states that Mr. Tisdale is a valuable asset to the District due to his
participation and knowledge about District activities.
If Council is in agreement with the reappointment his term would end on December 31, 2022. This
does not bind Council, as they have the option each year to switch committee assignments; but, it will
provide the District with the secure knowledge of his presence on the Board.

There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.

Subject: Reappointment of Trustee Brian Tisdale
Dear Mr. Yates:
Mr. Brian Tisdale's term as a Trustee on the District Board expires on
December 31, 2018. Mr. Tisdale is a very dedicated and conscientious
Trustee and performs his responsibilities very diligently. Mr. Tisdale is
always available for District business, even on short notice. Brian
participates in Board meetings on a regular basis and has acquired in depth
knowledge about District activities. He truly serves in his position as
Trustee with due diligence and has become an invaluable asset to the
District.
Brian serves as the Vice President of the Board is willing to continue to
serve as a Trustee on the District Board. He can be reached at 951-440-
7495. Pursuant to California Health and Safety Code appointments to the
Board must be for a 2 or 4 year term. Based on Mr. Tisdale's
participation, dedication, and knowledge about the District, it is
respectfully requested that he be rea ointed for a four year term ex irin
on December 31, 2022.
