Subject: Municipal Police Services Feasibility Study
Recommendation
This item was placed on the Agenda at the request of the Mayor.
Discussion
The Mayor has requested that the City Council direct staff to solicit request for proposals from qualified
consulting firms to study the feasibility of Lake Elsinore separating from the Sheriff's department and
forming our own Municipal Police Department. Staff will be available to provide information and respond
to City Council questions.
Fiscal Impact
The Municipal Police Services study is estimated to cost approximately$50,000.00 to $100,000.00, but
the actual cost is not known at this time.
