Ray Nava, Deputy Mark Titus, Deputy Julie Zaborowski, Deputy Alejandro Salcedo & Deputy Hiriam Coleman Currently there are 5 Sgt.'s and 12 deputies boat trained at Lake Elsinore Station. Generally there is boat trained deputy on duty 24/7 in the event of a water emergency at any time of the day, week or year.   3 staff trained in Boating Accident Investigation/ Reconstruction July 4th Fireworks on the water   2 Patrol Hours and Schedule 2,230 lake patrol hours proposed for 2014 season 1,780 regular, patrol hours 360 holiday hours 90 Supervisor holiday hours Weekend Boat Patrol Schedule April 5th – May 18th: 1 boat Sat. & Sun. May 23rd – Sept. 1st: 1 boat Fri., 2 on Sat. & Sun. Holiday Weekends: 1 boat Fri., 3 boats on Sat. & Sun. Boat trained deputy on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. LEMSAR- Lake Elsinore Marine Search and Rescue   PURPOSE - Lake Elsinore Marine Search and Rescue is a public service oriented nonprofit, incorporated organization and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Non-profit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public and charitable purposes. Lake Elsinore Marine Search and Rescue may legally be referred to as "LEMSAR".   (a) The specific purpose of LEMSAR is to provide the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, L.E.P.D. and Fire Department additional resources and special expertise in the application of marine search and rescue to better serve the users of Lake Elsinore for public safety.   6 Lake Elsinore Marine Search and Rescue 19 active members, many are lake front property owners. LEMSAR Board: Commander- Clif Ayres Vice Commander- Jeff George Treasurer- Lou Prijatel Secretary- Terry Prijatel Assist police in vessel assist, vessel recovery, and search and rescue operations. Use personal water crafts. 7 City of Lake Elsinore Rescue Boat Program April 16, 2014 8 Lake History Southern California’s largest natural, freshwater lake Lake size 3000 acres Shoreline 14 miles Boaters per year 25,000 Owned and operated by the State of California Parks and Recreation Department until 1993; In 1993 the lake assets and water rights were turned over to the City of Lake Elsinore & EMWD. Coverage to begin Memorial Day weekend to kick-off boating season 17 Program Future Rescue Water Craft coverage for holiday weekends and special events. Cross-Staff coverage for all water rescue equipment as incidents dictate. Continue the purchase of equipment for all rescue water craft to meet program intent. Continue annual training for adding qualified boat operators to the roster.
