Subject:Creation of an Energy Subcommittee
Recommendation
Establish a new subcommittee, the Energy Subcommittee, and appoint two members to serve.
Background
From time to time there is a need for the formation of a Council subcommittee to study, evaluate
and make recommendations to the Council, on various topics.
Discussion
There are several energy projects in various stages of planning and implementation, within Lake
Elsinore boundaries and the surrounding areas. The subcommittee is being requested to
provide input on projects such as Southern California Edison’s Ivy Glen and Alberhill, Nevada
Hydro’s Lake Elsinore Advanced Pumping and Storage System and alternative energy
opportunities.
Council should appoint two of its members to work directly with the City Manager on energy
issues that affect the City.
Fiscal Impact
