Two percent of the Local Transportation Fund revenue is made available each year for use on bicycle and pedestrian facility projects in Riverside County. TDA Article 3 (SB 821) funds are available to local agencies to cover engineering expenses, right-of-way acquisition, and construction costs for bicycle and pedestrian facilities. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 GRANT APPLICATION STATUS SB-821 Grant Applications Submitted on – April 27, 2017 7 Applications were submitted Riverside County Transportation Board approved on – July 12, 2017 6 of the 7 projects were awarded All the 6 projects are estimated to cost $1 Million City was awarded $0.5 Million, with the City to fund the other $0.5 Million to complete the projects. All the projects must be completed within 2 years of the award PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 GRANT APPLICATION STATUS On September 19, 2017, the City received notification from RCTC that an alternate funding source became available for several projects awarded to other jurisdictions through SB 821 in June. This allowed additional SB 821 funds to become available. On September 25, 2017, RCTC awarded additional funds to the City for the Palomar Multi-Use Trail. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 GRANT SUMMARY As of September 2017, RCTC has approved all seven application. Total Project Cost – $1.5 Million Awarded - $750K, City is required to provide 50% local match. The projects proposes 4,060 linear feet of sidewalks, and 9 miles of bike lanes. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 PROJECTS Chaney Street – 1,800 feet of sidewalk on the east side of Chaney Street, from W. Flint Street to W. Sumner Street. PSAC November 15, 2017 W. Lakeshore Drive – 1,350 feet of sidewalk on the north side of Lakeshore Drive, from Machado Street to Wise Street. This is the first project to be designed and constructed PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 PROJECTS 3. W. Sumner, Mohr and Davis Street 910 feet of small sections of missing link sidewalks. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 PROJECTS 4. 0.25 miles both way Class II Bike lane on Lakeshore Drive from Chaney to Mohr Street 0.85 miles on W. Graham from Mohr Street to Main Street, and 0.65 miles of Class III Bike lane on Main Street from Limited to Flint Street. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 PROJECTS 5. 1.75 miles both way Class II Bike Machado Street from to Lakeshore Drive, miles on Lakeshore Drive from Machado to Jernigan Street. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 PROJECTS 6. 0.25 miles both way Class II Bike lane on Mission Trail from Diamond Drive to Campbell street. PSAC November 15, 2017 SB-821 PROJECTS 0.5 miles one way Class I multi-use trail adjacent to the flood control channel near Palomar Street. This is part of the Murrieta Creek Regional Trail.
