Domen, MMC, City Clerk Date: July 25, 2017 Subject:City Voting Delegate for the 2017 League of California Cities Annual Conference (LOCC) Recommendation Appoint Council Member Manos as the City’s Voting Delegate and Mayor Pro Tem Johnson as the Alternate Voting Delegate, for the 2017 LOCC Annual Conference to be held September 13-15, 2017, in Sacramento. Discussion The LOCC will be holding its Annual Conference on September 13-15, 2017, in Sacramento, California this year. Numerous legislative bills that affect cities are discussed and voted on at this conference. Council Member Manos is appointed to the League’s Executive Board and as such will be attending this Conference along with Mayor Pro Tem Johnson. Therefore, it is requested that the Council vote to authorize Council Member Manos to be the City’s voting delegate and Mayor Pro Tem Johnson as the alternate voting delegate, at this conference. Attached is the notification from the League advising of the requirement for Council action in this regard. Forms not sent by this deadline may be submitted to the Voting Delegate Desk located in the Annual Conference Registration Area. Your city council may designate one voting delegate anti up to two alternates. In order to vote at the Annual Business Meeting (General Assembly), voting delegates and alternates must be designated by your city council. Please attach the council resolution as proof of designation. As an alternative, the Mayor or City Clerk may sign this form, affirming that the designation reflects the action taken by the council. Please note: Voting delegates and alternates will be seated in a separate area at the Annual Business Meeting. Admission to this designated area will be limited to individuals (voting delegates and alternates) who are identified with a special sticker on their conference badge.
