A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE,
CALIFORNIA, RENAMING OF LA, LAGUNA RESORT AND BOAT LAUNCH TO
LAUNCH POINT RECREATION DESTINATION AND RV PARK
Whereas, the City of Lake Elsinore was deeded the campground in perpetuity from the State of
California which was then renamed the Lake Elsinore Recreation Area (LERA) in 1993; and,
Whereas, in 2002, the City contracted out daily campground operations with an outside
concessionaire; and,
Whereas, the boat launch facility was upgraded and reopened in 2012, and was renamed to "La
Laguna Resort and Boat Launch" at that time; and,
Whereas, the campground area has not been updated with physical improvements since its
inception, and,
Whereas, the campground was in disrepair from past operations and in need of aesthetic and
safety upgrades to be viable for campers and other users alike; and,
Whereas, with the rehabilitation of campground facility it will meet the various needs of the
camping, fishing and recreational community; and,
Whereas, the rehabilitation project will provide new and upgraded amenities, such as, 235 full
hookup service RV campsites, vintage trailer village with units available for rent, 6 Yurts (soft -
sided, rounded cabins), recreational themed areas in the camping area, RV and boat storage, a
new maintenance facility, a new Administration and Check-in Building with guard kiosk, a new
Community Hall, and an upgraded bait & tackle store with a concession stand; and,
Whereas, the current facility is named La Laguna Resort and Boat Launch; and,
Whereas, with the with the rehabilitation it necessitated a new identity that would demonstrate a
new level of facility and attract more use from locals and visitors alike; and,
Whereas, a representative committee met with a consultant over an extensive five-month process
to review and develop a new name that would be respective of the facility's history yet ignite and
excite patrons to visit and stay at the new facility; and,
Whereas, the committee recommends changing the name of the facility from "La Laguna Resort
and Boat Launch" to "Launch Pointe Recreation Destination & RV Park."
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Approve the renaming of "La Laguna Resort and Boat Launch" to "Launch Pointe
Recreation Destination & RV Park."
Section 2: Direct staff to proceed with the process of using the name and branding of the
campground with Launch Pointe Recreation Destination & RV Park.
Section 3: Staff shall proceed with the preparation of all wayfinding and promotional materials
immediately. Staff shall disseminate all marketing r6terials upon grand re -opening.

Section 4: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book
of original Resolutions.
