HomeMy WebLinkAbout0002_1_4-19-2017 PSACPage 1 City of Lake Elsinore Public Safety Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes Wednesday, April 19, 2017 Call to Order A Regular meeting of the Public Safety Advisory Commission (PSAC) was held in the Cultural Center, 183 North Main Street, on the above date. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Chairman Stewart. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Vice-Chair Gregory. Roll Call Present: Commissioners Carlos, Hyland, and Sund; Vice-Chair Gregory and Chair Stewart Absent: None Public Comments – Non Agendized Items There were no members of the Public appearing to speak. Consent Calendar Items It was moved by Commissioner Sund, seconded by Vice-Chair Gregory, and unanimously carried, to approve the Consent Calendar. 1) Minutes of the Regular meeting of March 15, 2017 – approved. 2) Financial Report as of March 2017 – received and filed. 3) Quarterly Report to Council - 1st Quarter 2017 – received and filed. Business Items 4) Transient Camp Enforcement Update Senior Civil Engineer Dost introduced Code Enforcement Supervisor Lopez who presented a Power Point presentation and responded to comments from Members of the Commission. Appearing to speak was: Ace Vallejos. Chairman Stewart suggested sending or emailing reminder letters to the big box stores advising of the City ordinance that enforces panhandling at 15 feet away from a business. Page 2 It was moved by Chairman Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Sund, and unanimously carried, to receive and file the report. 5) Senate Bill 821 (SB 821) Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Program Update Engineer Dost presented a Power Point presentation on the Riverside County Transportation Commission SB 821 program and requested the Commission approve the improvement locations to be submitted with the grant application. Commissioners' Comments Vice-Chair Gregory commented that he is looking forward to the upcoming boat season on the lake. Commissioner Hyland stated she is glad that PSAC is realizing more projects like the SB821 grant application. Chairman Stewart thanked Engineer Dost for his work and appreciated Code Enforcement’s prompt response to the transient issue in the City; announced the Clean Extreme event on April 22 nd and invited everyone to attend the event; asked that the event page on the City’s website reflect the correct time of PSAC meetings; and, announced that boating classes hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard will be held at Lake Elsinore Marina. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 7:08 p.m. to the Regular meeting on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in the Cultural Center located at 183 N.
