HomeMy WebLinkAbout0003_1_Larimer Design Architect -SRREPORT TO SUCCESSOR AGENCY OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE To:Successor Agency for the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Lake Elsinore Board From:Grant Yates, Executive Director Prepared by: Jason Simpson, Assistant Executive Director Date:October 25, 2016 Subject:FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE DIAMOND STADIUM DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES WITH LARIMER DESIGN ARCHITECT Recommendation Authorize the Executive Director to execute the First Amendment in an amount not to exceed $77,375.00 in the form attached and in such final form as approved by the City Attorney. Background On August 1, 2016 the Successor Agency entered into a professional services agreement with Larimer Design. The basic agreement was executed to develop ADA accessibility requirements and incorporate current stadium design concepts into the new stadium seating project. Provide architectural services for the accessible improvements at Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium, including parking, seating area, and concession stand improvements. This would include a variety of seating area improvements, with particular attention paid to improved sight lines and viewing opportunities for handicapped patrons; concession stand and food services; improved access and circulation, and updated equipment that is better aligned with an improved menu. Discussion After working closely with Lake Elsinore Storm Staff and Larimer Design Architect and in conjunction with the American seating purchase and installation this work will provide a needed compliance update and blend sporting observation and social gathering areas into the stadium. Larimer Design Architect will design and deliver stadium spectating features with construction ready documentation to include the below item. SCHEMATIC DESIGN Prepare Schematic Design drawings for seating area improvements, including conceptual floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, exterior elevations, building sections, interior elevations, door schedules, and massing studies, based on Client input. Diamond Stadium Capital Repairs October 25, 2016 Page2 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT Preliminary code check and review of Agency requirements. Prepare Design Development documents, including: site plan, site accessibility plan, site egress plan, demolition plan, floor plan, reflected ceiling plan, exterior elevations, building sections, interior elevations, door schedules, and preliminary construction details. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS Prepare Construction Documents, including: title sheet / project information; site plan; site egress plan; site accessibility plan; demolition plan; floor plan; reflected ceiling plan; exterior elevations; building sections; wall sections; interior elevations; door schedules; construction de ails, and finish plans. Prepare Project Specifications, as required. Coordinate preparation of Consultants’ Construction Documents, details, calculations and specifications, as required for plan check submission to the Building Department. GOVERNMENTAL PROCESSING City of Lake Elsinore Building Department Prepare and submit Plan Check Submittal documents to local Building Department. Review Building Department Plan Check issues with Client and Design Team; prepare response to Plan Check issues. Coordinate refinement of Plan Check Resubmission documents. Attend Plan Check Cycle Review meetings with Building Department Staff to clear Plan Check Issues, finalize plan check process and prepare plans for building permit issuance. Fiscal Impact Diamond Stadium HVAC Project (CIP Project RDA Z20003) is included in the Fiscal Year 16/17 – 20/21 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget.
