TO:Honorable Mayor and

FROM:Grant Yates, City Manager
DATE:September 13, 2016
PROJECT: Conditional Use Permit 2012-06, and Commercial Design Review
2016-03: A recreational project which incorporates a camping facility,
boat launch, and a 15 berth dock.
APPLICANT:Larry Markham, MDMG
Recommendation
OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING, RECEIVE TESTIMONY, CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING, AND
CONTINUE THE ITEM TO AN UNSPECIFIED DATE.
Discussion
On August 23, 2016, the City Council took action to approve the Beach Resort phase of the project
and continued the Beach Park phase to the September 13, 2016, meeting and instructed the
applicant to continue outreach with the adjacent homeowners and incorporate any modifications
into a final design. At the request of the applicant the item is recommended to be continued to an
October meeting. Staff is however recommending that the item be continued off Calendar due to
concerns with completion of the outreach by the October meetings. Further notification shall be
prepared and posted pursuant to Government Code Section 65090-65096 when the item is
scheduled for Public Hearing in the future.

Subject:Re: Wakerider Beach Park
I REQUEST A CONTINUANCE TO 10.11 OR 10.25 FOR THE BEACH PARK WHILE I LOOK AT
OPTIONS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE A CUP TO BUILD. ALSO IF THE 1265 IS ENFORCED IT WILL
KILL NOT ONLY MY PROJECT, BUT MOST LIKELY ALL COMMERCIAL BUILDING AROUND THE
LAKE FOR EVER.
