Background Staff has performed research on various Sport Field Netting options and determined the sport field netting available on the National Buy Board Keystone Purchasing Network (KPN) is a great option to execute for this purchase. KPN is a cooperative purchasing program that offers premier products and excellent service at competitive prices under pre-advertised and negotiated contracts. This purchase will provide a ready to install sport netting system for Rosetta Canyon Sports Park. The netting is needed to screen off arrant and long ball shots from the playing fields bordering the parking lot. Also, a shorter section of about 200 lineal feet is needed to protect the playing activities in the existing play area and the old building. This prefabricated system is the most economical solution that meets the esthetic and safety demands of the sports park. Sports Field Specialties’ netting system includes, design, engineering, and shipping of a 30 foot high net system ready for installation upon delivery. Using the KPN considerably reduces construction engineering, on-site construction time-lines and is more economical than architecturally designed net systems that are built on-site. By purchasing the netting directly, on a pre-determined competitive price schedule it will avoid any additional mark-ups.
