SUBJECT: SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT TO AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT (PSA) WITH
SUSTAINABLE CIVIL ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS (SCES) FOR
FUNDING FISCAL YEAR 2016/2017 PLAN CHECK AND PROJECT
MANAGEMENT /COORDINATION SERVICES
Background
On June 11, 2013, Council approved a (PSA) in an amount not to exceed $300,000 with
SCES for engineering plan check services. The first amendment on September 21,
2013 approved additional funds for the firm to serve as Interim Director of Public Works.
The second amendment on May 27, 2014, amended the agreement to allocate an
additional $260,000 for project management services for a total contract amount of
$560,000. A third amendment to the PSA was approved on June 23, 2015 giving the
City Manager authority to extend the contract for two (2) more years on an annual basis.
A fourth amendment was approved on November 10, 2016, allocating an additional
$200,000 for plan check services and project management. On June 30, 2016,
Amendment No. 5 was issued, extending the contract for one (1) year.
Discussion
This supplemental staff report is meant to clarify the background of amendments to the
original PSA with Sustainable Civil Engineering Solutions.
