Subject: Excel Landscape FY 2016/2017 Citywide Landscape Maintenance Contract
Services
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an Agreement with Excel Landscape for
Citywide Landscape Maintenance Contractor Services, for the in the amount of $748,791, in the
final form as approved by City Attorney.
Background
The City Council established the Citywide Landscaping and Street Lighting Maintenance District
("Citywide LLMD ") in 1988 for the purpose of maintaining those facilities in accordance with the
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. The City of Lake Elsinore is responsible for maintaining
the landscaping that is encompassed in the street right-of-way referred to in this report as
“streetscape”. Because of the volume of maintenance work this job entails, the City contra cts
with vendors to supplement staff’s effort to keep up with the workload.
Discussion
This past year Excel has proved to be very responsive to the City needs by providing good
landscape maintenance services. Excel Landscape has demonstrated that they have the City’s
best interest in mind. Therefore, the City now wish to enter into a contract with Excel Landscape
for FY 2016-2017 Citywide Landscape Maintenance Services.
Fiscal Impact
Funding is allocated from the Citywide LLMD, LLMD 1 and Parks Maintenance operating
budget.
The project Fiscal Year 2016/2017 cost is not to exceed $748,791. Funding resource as
follows:
Parks Landscaping Operation & Maintenance $ 568,884
LLMD $ 143,237
LLMD 1 $ 36,670
