Subject:Approve Amendment to Public Works’ Construction Agreement with
AP Construction Group Inc. for the Diamond Stadium HVAC Project
(CIP Project RDA Z20003)
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Successor Agency Board:
1. Amend the Public Works’ Construction Agreement with AP Construction Group Inc. for
the Diamond Stadium HVAC Project (CIP Project RDA Z20003)
2. Approve and authorize the Executive Director to execute the Second Amendment in the
not to exceed amount of $27,521.87 with AP Construction Group Inc. in the form attached
and in such final form as approved by the Agency Attorney.
Background
On December 1, 2015, AP Construction Group Inc. was awarded a contract to purchase and
install a new air-conditioning and heating system at Diamond Stadium. The project was
completed on time for the opening of the current baseball season.
On March 8, 2016, a first amendment was approved to upsize the air conditioning unites in the
private suites.
At this time all systems are running and meeting or exceeding design and production
expectations.
Discussion
After working closely with Lake Elsinore Storm Staff on the total HVAC system replacement, it
has been determined there are four small rooms that need HVAC service that were not included
in the original system design and proposal. The rooms included in this amendment are a cash

room, 1st aid room, family room and a food storage pantry. These rooms are very small and are
easily accommodated by the new HVAC system. It is not necessary to expand the HVAC capacity
to condition these rooms, however the scope of this work will only include the delivery of
conditioned air to each of these rooms and can be completed in a very short time without
interruption to baseball operations.
Fiscal Impact
Diamond Stadium HVAC Project (CIP Project RDA Z20003) is included in the Fiscal Year 15/16
– 19/20 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget. The contract amount herein is fully funded with
ROP funding.
